Crying during first time I had sex?

It wasn't that it hurt, but every time he'd go fully in something would just trigger and I'd start balling. He tried 5 different times over the course of like 2 hours but every time I'd cry. I feel completely safe with him, I was ready, and I haven't had any past trauma, but I couldn't stop crying. Why is this?

It could be that you were overwhelmed by the experience. Some people do feel overwhelming emotion during sex, even when it's not their first time. Could be that you were overwhelmed by the feeling of being so closely connected and intimate, could be intense love, could be intense anxiety over losing childhood and innocence forever, could be feelings of guilt or worry about pregnancy, could be intense physical sensations that you weren't used to, all of the above, or something else completely. I can only guess.
