Six good answers here and one other.

Why couldn't this section have been more like this over the last few years?

A sigh of relief from the Islamophobic cowards who trashed this section?

As if that will actually change anything ......

Asalaamu Walaykum to Muslims on here and Insha' Allah a Blessed and peaceful Ramadan.

  • It all depends on why you missed fasting.

If you are not medically capable of fasting then you need to feed poor people. Please ask a scholar for help.

If you are medically capable of fasting, then keep on fasting until before Ramadan begins. During Ramadan, just observe the 30 days of fast then make up the missed fast you had last Ramadan, and any of the missed fast you had in your lifetime.

    Allah knows best.

Just feed the poor or give to a good charity, this is what I do.

Islam makes it easy for you to catch up on non-fasted days.

You feed the poor as much day as you did not fast.. But that doesnt mean you shouldn't replace fast, fast still needs to be replaced

As if you did not pay the debt to the debtor, he may sue you to the court.

You just need to pay Kaffara. Kaffara (expiation) provides an opportunity to recompense for individuals who deliberately miss or break a fast during Ramadan without a valid reason.

If you have a valid reasons on top of that, then you don't need to pay kaffara as well. For example, If you are a pregnant woman and your baby is still depending on breask milk upto 12months, then you are exempted from fasting, you don't need to pay them at all. Also if you are too old and you have no capability of fasting anymore then you don't need to, or If you are medically proven not to be fasting, then you are exempted.

God understand your situation, the above kaffara and replacement of fasting are only applicable to people who are capable of doing it but due to certain circumstances they were not able to follow.

Last Ramadan, instead of fasting, I said to myself, "Ram a Dan, instead." So I went down to the local gay bar, found a guy named Dan, and did just that.
