How bad does wind have to be to knock out power?
The wind knocked out my power for 8 hours one time. and it's going 40 mph with rain.

We don't know where you are: power systems are built differently to withstand unique conditions in different places. I live in Florida and power lines are either buried, or built to withstand 100+ mph winds . . . . . that wouldn't be necessary in other places.

Generally speaking, wind gusts of 35 mph are enough to potentially damage trees and subsequently powerlines, which could lead to power flickers or brief outages.

hopefully it wont, my place was going over 50 miles one day and we never lose power
