Strange thumping sound in left ear, any cause for concern?

Update:

its not like a heartbeat kind of thump, more like a knocking that comes and goes

Update 2:

I had a slight amount of pain that felt like an ear infection earlier that day, but it went away. now im laying in bed with my head propped up but it keeps coming every few minutes. Ive seen things saying to check your pulse but the pulse doesnt match the pattern of thumping.

I would suggest you to consult and ENT specialist if it is happening from more than 3-4 days

i have had that, it is wax over the eardrum. You need ear drops from a Pharmacy to dissolve the wax. Took about 6 hours then it went.
