They've been pretty popular for 20 years, and arguably they've only become more popular with the advent of YouTube or tiktok which has people just giving updates about their lives and getting hundreds of thousands of views. I honestly think the reality type of media will be around forever, but the TV might go away in 50 years in exchange for people having phones and vr headsets.
