Although dark skin in the armpits and elbows MIGHT be a sign of high blood sugar - it does NOT guarantee that you actually HAVE high blood sugar. You would need to see a doctor for an actual diagnosis.
If you actually have high blood sugar - then you need to stop the sugary drinks NOW. But, controlling blood sugar is NOT just about "avoiding sugar". ALL carbohydrates become sugar in your blood which means that if you actually DO have high blood sugar - it means changing ALL your eating habits to reduce carbohydrates.
You need to see a doctor and get blood work done to make sure you don't have diabetes. DO NOT just guess.
One other thing to mention - what about frequent urination and thirst. These are key indicators of sugar levels that are truly out of control. The body would be trying to flush the sugar out by peeing it out. If you are getting up more than once during the night to pee - or if you never usually need to pee at night but lately you do - then you do need to see a doctor - soon. And thirst would be because your body is peeing more. (trying to replace fluids being used to flush the sugar.)

You are pickling your insides and rotting your teeth. Quit drinking pop for a month and stick to water (NOT juice and nothing carbonated) and you will see a huge difference in how you look and feel.

Your blood sugar's got nothing to do with where and how dark your skin is.
But that much of any soft drink is bad for your overall health. It's a lot of empty calories, more caffeine than is desirable, and just a bad idea. Wean yourself off the Coke for that reason. Start by drinking a manageable small amount of water three times a day--maybe 12 ounces, the size of a can of Coke. Your desire to drink anything should be less.
