football can include grid iron , rugby , australian foot ball , soccer and irish football . Americans arent that well educated that all the prefer grid iron .

I verbally bash my daughter for her love of rugby... In a jokey way due to her height... She's so teeny it's hilarious and that fact she hates me making fun of her for her height makes me poke fun of her more.. Because she actually plays rugby.. She doesn't watch it or go to spectate but plays it... Nobody I kno hates her for likin it.. So I deduce maybe it's u that's the problem... The whole of u not just the rugby liking 

Not quite all, but a great many people are tribal.  They want to know if you're part of the "in" group or the "out" group.  It happens in a lot of things.  Football is OK but, yeah, rugby is better.
