'Pinning' refers to saving a website to a taskbar. Typically, an image representing the website continues to exist on your taskbar so you can easily click on it and return to it. This is basically just an 'upgraded' version of bookmarking, which requires additional steps to locate the website link. Pinning makes it easier to see and locate quickly right on your taskbar itself.
