Is Satan physical appearance ever described in the Bible?

Update:

I see depictions of him always looking terrifying! I think that is just to scare people? To make them fear Hell and serve god.Β

He doesn't have a physical appearance. He is a spirit.

The bible doesn't give a physical description just like Jesus etc

But God made his angels in his image

    Artists use imagination

Yes you are right, fear was heavily sold to the public in the dark ages and it still plays a big part in Christianity.

How many Christians would there be without the fear of hell or the promise of a fantasy heaven. Close to zero?

Source(s): Of course God/Satan/Jesus are mythology
  • He is described as being rather short in stature, and morbidly obese, with strange hair and rather small hands.

Before the Fall he is described by Ezekiel thusly

Ezekiel 28:11 Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 12 β€œSon of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, β€˜Thus says the Lord God:

β€œYou were the seal of perfection,

Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.

    13 You were in Eden, the garden of God;

Every precious stone was your covering:

    The sardius, topaz, and diamond,

    Beryl, onyx, and jasper,

Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.

The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes

Was prepared for you on the day you were created.

In the garden he described as a serpent. Oh how the mighty have fallen
