So the same people who want to run this, the most powerful country on earth, can't even find a valid ID for themselves. Remotely surprised?

    Excuse me?

Who are these people who want to "run the country" but can't find a valid ID?

I don't think any of the low-income or elderly people who have trouble getting an ID are actually asking to "run the country". They're not demanding to sit in the Senate or the House -- or the White House.

Just so you know: in my state, the offices where you can obtain driver's licenses and state IDs are not open during any hours that are convenient for low-income people -- who might be paid minimum wage by the hour -- to get there.  They have no weekend, early morning, or evening hours. If you manage to take off an afternoon to wait in line (it takes hours), you'll lose your wages, and you may have trouble just getting to the nearest office if you don't have a car, as many of these people do not.  (Many elderly people no longer drive at all.)

You really haven't thought this through, or you are simply not familiar with the problems.

  • You seem triggered.

Have been trying to get a real ID from the State of CA DMV for 6 months now, without success. I am 79, in a wheelchair,  and cannot stand in line, which has been going around the block for a long time. They are not accepting appointments, and don't aswere phone calls or return them. I don't even drive, but can't get a real ID. Online application has gone only so far, then they say make an appointment, but when you try to they say they are not accepting appointments.
