Can you be a functioning drug addict I'm a methamphetamine user can I hold down a job and a relationship while keeping my addiction a secret?

I have been using for 4 years I inject it can't see myself quitting anytime soon. So could I just become functioning?

I used to know an alcoholic who was perfectly capable of doing her job. She would work all day and come home every evening and get drunk. Then she would sleep it off and go off to work the next day like nothing happened. She was able to do this for years.

You probably cannot. The meth use will make itself known on your skin or your behavior and you'll lose it all.

I think at some point it would catch up with you.  That's a lot of meth and eventually it will affect your health.  Even if you're functioning, you should ask yourself why you need the stuff.  You're obviously trying to escape something.

No. You can be a drug user who isn't an addict that can have a successful life, but you can't have an addiction of any kind without it negatively affecting your life. If you had a job and were an addict, you'd be taking breaks to get high like smokers do to replenish their nicotine reservoirs. You're probably like a person who loves video games, but doesn't let it devour their life, preventing them from being active, having a relationship, etc.. In other words, you're not a true addict because you can control yourself.

Apprently, you are functional at this point in time. It is not all that uncommon. Eventually though, in some way, shape, or form, it will interfere enough to screw you. Or it will kill you in some manner. But, to each their own.
