Is the truth about the closure of the site due to the organization of political attacks?

Like they were forced to close or something?

No, the truth is that the site isn't profitable enough, and Verizon is too dumb or stingy to do something about it

No. It’s closing because like everything else that closed, answers suck. Why did Sears go out of business. Why did circuit city go out of business. Why isn’t the zune made anymore. Because they suck.

Yahoo didn’t give a damn so now it’s getting closed. The first few years after answers went life, trolls got their accounts suspended so they wouldn’t drive away new users. For the past few years, yahoo just let the trolls do whatever they want. With that much ****, why would any new users stick around.

    NOPE! - Capitalism, that simple...

Low traffic - likely due to racist, ex. posts - with low traffic, not going to sell much, so...

UPDATE 1: SMALL privately run (as in some guy with a desktop in his house) forums are much more pleasant and easier to keep under control anyway...

Y!A is shutting down because there are too many dangerous lies posted here, such as lies about vaccines.  It's too expensive to clean up all the ToS violations these days.  I've been here 12 years and I've never seen it this bad.

It's useless and unprofitable and probably a pain in the azz for Yahoo

Yes, just like everything else. People can't be civil anymore.
