As a wedding guest, I find it embarrassing. In cases where it is obvious that one of the people involved is surprised and displeased by the other's action, it is enormously embarrassing.

Agree. Cutting the cake and feeding it to one another is supposed to (or was supposed to) symbolize nourishing one another.

IMHO it is but it's not my place to judge what others do with the cake they bought for the wedding they paid for. At the very least couples who do this can't be considered as vain as those who have to try to stay perfect so they look good in pictures all day.

The 'cutting the cake' ritual at weddings got out of control with the cake smash. It was bad enough with feeding each other cake.
