Is it normal to laugh when doing vocal characterizations and impressions?
Hi. I have been trying my hand at doing vocal characterizations for my own OC's and doing vocal characterizations. I have a series of recordings I made that I saved in my smartphone that I want to upload to Vocaroo. I have the potential to be a good voice actor. I still want to learn how to voice act professionally. I signed up for a voice over training program - I am waiting till I get a voice over mic and the things I need to turn my den into a sound studio.
Is it normal to laugh when doing vocal characterizations and impressions? It's healthy to laugh but I try not to laugh when doing this.
Please help. Thank you.

It’s probably normal for beginners and people uncomfortable with acting to laugh. It’s usually a sign they lack confidence and/or focus. Professional actors take their work seriously and don’t laugh. They have the acting training and confidence to do the job.

A professional will rarely, if ever, laugh. The reason is that they take their jobs seriously and have been trained in the art of acting. They fully invest in the characters they are portraying. I hope you realise that the majority of voice actors are actors who have specialised more in one area of acting, not people who only trained in voice. The course you intend to do might only be useful if you are a fully trained actor.
