That is the nature of law, that it is mandatory and coercive. If it wasn't, it would be suggestion, not law.
Years ago people were free to smoke cigarettes damn near everywhere. Smoke free environments were few and far between. And then the non-smokers, the parents of children with asthma, and so on worked within the law to change the law. Clean indoor air laws prohibited smoking in many indoor spaces.
"Smokers rights" groups sprang up, objecting to government "control." And were largely dismissed as asinine. No, there is no "right" for a smoker to make breathing smokey air a condition of going grocery shopping, riding a bus, doing business at the bank. Likewise there is no right to make breathing potentially covid laden air a condition of going about our daily business.
If the mask you have now is so uncomfortable that it's burdensome to wear THEN GET A MORE COMFORTABLE MASK! DUH! Many masks are so comfortable you forget you're wearing them, even when you wear TWO. That's why you see people driving with a mask on -- it's so comfortable they forget it was there. Jeez.

LOL kid, if you want to trick us into thinking you're *not* a republican yourself, you might want to set your Y/A activity to "private".
