I went to a private school, everything there was documented.  If you had a head injury and when you were in the office you blinked three times in a row they’ll write it down.  My parents would know everything.  They knew when i got knocked down in a particularly fierce soccer match.  They knew when i sprained my ankle by landing on it the wrong way.  Nothing went on at school they didn’t know about before i told them

What makes you think the school was aware that your kid walked into a wall while he was there?    Do you really want your son to be interrogated by every teacher every time he has a cut, bruise or scrape?

No one here has a clue whether your kid is six or sixteen.  You came here to whine but didn't bother to give any information or context.   My guess is that your kid takes after you.

Welcome to the wonderful world of American public education. It's a world in which schools are focused on anything and everything except educating kids and seeing that they grow up in a healthy, happy, positive environment.  This is oh-so-typical at most public schools in this country. Unless the kid has a life threatening injury, it's generally not going to result in parental notification. That's unfortunate, but it's the way the schools are these days. They, and the people who run them, don't give a hoot about the kids' welfare.

Would depend massively on how old said child was, and how bad the injury was.

Kids get hurt. It's not a new thing. But there are now what 30 plus kids in one class. A teacher has a lot to do. You obviously found out about it. To think the teacher is going to what, abandon the class to come and ring you about a bump on the head is ridiculous.

Parents suffered? It's the kids who suffer. My son needed stitches from an accident in gym class, that the teacher knew about and told him to stop bleeding on the floor. He finished the day, got him, and I took him to the ER, where they stitched him up. Same gym teacher, same son, also had a broken finger in another incident.  He is not the only one either and 20 years later, that gym teacher is still working there.
