Clear up a breakout naturally?
For some reason, I have been having breakout activity. This is definitely not the "norm" for me. I typically have clear skin, aside from an occasional spot here or there. Well, these last couple weeks, I've had a lot of issues. I've been seeing breakout activity around my mouth/chin mostly, but also a couple in/near my eyebrows and one on my cheek. The one on my cheek is finally about healed. It's been there over a week. It never really popped or anything. I flattened it slowly using hydrocolloid bandages. The ones around my chin/mouth have went away from the first breakout, but I still have a few from this newest occurrence. Currently, I have -
*A dried up spot on the right side near my mouth (very close to being gone now)
*A dried up spot right against my left eyebrow (also almost gone)
*A spot IN my right eyebrow (popped a little and got a little smaller - could actually be an ingrown hair)
*One very tiny spot near my lip on the right side (not very noticeable, not sore - just very small)
*One on my upper lip area (area between my nose and mouth) that is towards the right (very sore, seems to be under the surface, no head - just a pinkish red bump - is not responding to hydrocolloid bandages so far)
*One on the lower left-hand corner of my chin (has shrunk and is no longer sore thanks to using a hydrocolloid band-aid)
*The older spot that is still going away on my right cheek (very flattened now, but still noticeable)
Any NATURAL solutions to clear this?
I am an adult, not a teenager. I am a nearly 30 year old woman. I have been on birth control for a few years now (same type with no issue). I have not changed anything with my diet really. I still eat about the same amount of sweets/chocolate, so there was no increase in that. I try hard to drink enough water a day, but lately, I admit I have been slacking in that department.
I never really have washed my face with anything. I've always been good with simple methods - using plain water in the shower (and in the morning), using occasional ACV as a toner, wiping away sweat or something with unscented/natural witch hazel, etc. I do NOT wear ANY makeup on my face. Occasionally, I will wear some mascara, but that is IT. I do not wear any sort of facial makeup. I wash my hair regularly and also keep it pulled gently away from my face at night when I sleep.
My boyfriend does have some skin issues. He is prone to very red, flaking skin. He is also very bad about washing bedding. He does not change pillowcases or anything. Before I moved in with him, I ALWAYS changed my bedding regularly. I changed my pillowcases nightly and then washed all bedding every week. Could HE be causing these random breakouts to occur? Should I explain my previous hygiene practice and suggest he also incorporate them if he wants me to sleep in his bed?
I can deal with the dried up spots that I have healing. They are basically gone, so they do not bother me. The active ones are what bothers me. Does anyone have any safe, preferably natural/chemical-free options to get rid of them ASAP? I have been using hydrocolloid bandages as I said to try to draw them out and shrink them. Some have not responded to that. So, is there another option to use in addition to that?
I say chemical-free because I personally try to avoid chemicals at all costs. My skin is sensitive and I just prefer a natural approach instead of using harsh/harmful chemical. I use natural laundry supplies, natural body wash, natural feminine care, natural shampoo... natural everything I can. So, as far as this breakout issue is concerned, I'd prefer to stay on the natural trend if at all possible.
As another side note, I also do not ever drink soda. I have not done that in YEARS. I quit by choice and have never looked back! One of my best decisions! When I eat out, I get water. I primarily drink water at home. I do drink orange juice as well (I try to have a glass a day of all natural, no added sugar OJ). I have zero sugar vitaminwater as well. I aim for no added sugar or zero sugar beverages that are natural if I am not having just plain water (my favorite).
Me and my boyfriend don't have similar issues. Mine is a random breakout I need help clearing. HIS is... I don't know what. Dry, red, flaking skin.
Angular cheilitis produces cracks and inflammation in the corners of the mouth... isn't it? This is NOT anything of the sort. I don't have cracks or splits. I have ACNE SPOTS.
Obviously I am aware that some all natural products... aka plants and weeds... can hurt you. Just as some safe, natural ingredients can produce reactions in some. People can be allergic to virtually anything. I do not like chemicals as they are harsh and unnatural. I do not want those products near my body.

It's quite possible you have angular chielitis -the side of the mouth being inflamed is one big clue. This has a few causes and number one is a fungal infection. Since both you and your boyfriend have similar issues you need to look into fungal infection treatments. Many common topical creams used for other fungal infections such as athlete's foot, dandruff yeast infections clear these up quickly and effectively.
Another cause is nutrient deficiencies. Iron, and riboflavin have been linked to several types of skin inflammation. Some people who have non scientific dietary restrictions are prone to skin and health problems. They restrict their diet for reasons that are not scientific or medical and their health can suffer.
It could also be some other type of fungal infection. Or an immune system malfunction. Or eczema or psoriasis or allergies. Be aware that many all natural plant based things can be highly irritating to the skin. Poison ivy is all-natural and plant based and will burn the skin. Hogweed is 100% natural, plant based and causes burns that blister and that leave scars. Plants and 100% all natural things are made of chemicals. Everything on earth is made of chemicals. Many chemicals are beneficial. Many natural plants are toxic and poisonous.
Some skin problems can't be solved with drug store products and need a prescription medication from a dermatologist. A skin doctor should be seen when you have unusual skin problems. The skin is the body's largest organ and as such it is often the first place health issues and certain diseases present themselves. Red rashes and inflammation is certainly something that a doctor should see.
