Is breathing in a little wood dust harmful?

I was manually by hand sanding down a pole, and afterwards thought about the wood dust inhalation.  How harmful would short term small amounts be?

Well, my father was a carpenter for years and he'd emerge from his shop every night covered in saw dust and no mask. I don't think you have anything to worry about after sanding ONE POLE! I'm imagining you right now as Zoolander, going into the mines with his father for ONE day and claiming to already have the "black lung", lol! Don't be a Poos-waah (the French name for "over-privileged pussy" my Marine sergeant husband made up!)

It's not. Unless you're coughing up 2x4s, don't worry about it.
