How heavy should a cat be? Is my cat overweight?
Just weighed my cat he's exactly 15lbs right now he's a orange tabby. I he usually has a full bowl of food small bowl. Always filled and I give him these little potion things of wet cat food in the morning you split them apart there's isn't allot in one. Like not even half a can of wet car food to compare to. I guess.

Green 666 by isotope rays is NOT forgivable; it leads to permanent hell. 666 is given with World Passport with no name on it (grey plastic card). Police 666 people on highways. Food stores and prisoners/insane asylum folks (released by the antichrist) 666 people too. Reject vaccines. Don't go into UFO to be “healed” by evil demons. Hide with Orthodox Christians to escape 666; leave all electronics behind so that antichrist's minions can't track you; burn documents as documents are from Satan.
Source(s): Pray the Jesus prayer just like priest Elpidios Vagianakis asked you to do: 33 times (symbolizing 33 years of Christ) at 6am, then at 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, 12pm, 3am. If you remember, awake, etc., pray it. Later you will pray it in your sleep. Documents are from Satan; burn all the documents that you can find. Electronics will be used to track you. Even old broken unplugged 1970 TV set will show the evil flying antichrist using Tesla's ether. Don’t go into UFO to be “healed” by evil demons; demons never do good; always pray the Jesus prayer or to saints who help right away (like saint Vyacheslav Krasheninnikov according to whom if you reject mark of the beast, then your direct ancestors go to heaven); forgive me. - 2 weeks ago
he looks fine to me, what i can see of him. my cat was 14 pounds but was very long and lean.
i bought a high quality dry food and filled a giant dog food bowl once a week... that's how long it took him to go through it. every week. he never ate more of it just because it was there.
in the morning, he got a can of fancy feast white chicken with sauce. he mostly just licked off the sauce. at noon, he got 4 slices of good quality fat free chicken which he gobbled down. late afternoon, he got another can of fancy feast, even though he hadn't finished the first one. during the night he'd come back and finish off the 2 bowls of wet food. he ate the same thing at the same time, day in and day out. he never overate and didn't have an ounce of fat on him. he love love loved chicken, no fish or other meat.
it's a much more humane way of feeding, they don't ever feel like they're starving and therefore never overeat, just graze as they feel like it. when animals have to wait for a small bit of food they're so hungry they bolt it down and still want more.
you should be taking your cat to the vet once a year for shots and a check-up. and then, like Pearl L says, ask your vet about his weight. he looks like a really sweet kitty.

Adult cats in good shape can weigh anywhere from 5 lbs to 20 lbs, and a few even smaller or bigger than that. No one here can say if yours is a good weight, especially from a photo that only shows part of the cat.

I think he's a healthy weight- but close to being overweight. It would be like if a human had a BMI of 24; the higher end of the healthy weight range.
While you still can you should probably feed him smaller portions of food, maybe get him to lose 1kg (2.5 lbs)

awww... he's cute. He looks very healthy and happy. My family had a cat that lived to be 24 years old and she was close to 20 lbs. 15 lbs. is fine - he's a big boy.

It varies. I have had a cat that was healthy at 15 pounds but the rest would be fat at that weight. You should be able to feel his ribs with little pressure and he should have a defined waist. If you are still unsure you can always ask a vet if he's overweight.
