Can I put my betta back in the tank with my neon tetras?
I had my betta in a 6 gal tank alone then introduced some tetras... He left them alone for the most part but if he swam near them and they didn't move or they entered his sight he started chasing them one at a time trying to nip them. Luckily they're faster than him so nobody is harmed I took him out and put him in a half gallon tank. Wondering if I can put him back in later on

Neon tetra need a 20 gallon tank. I betta could live in the 6 gallon . They are more likly to get along in a larger tank, but there is no garantee, bettas are carnivours and small fish look tasty. you could try them together in a 20 gallon and leave the 6 gallon for a back up tank.

It’s better to put him in his own big tank. Just because the tetras are faster doesn’t mean they’re not stressed out. Wouldn’t you be stressed out if every time you walk down the street and a bully comes out chasing you until you’re out of his area.
It’s also stressful for the beta because he’s a solitary fish. When he sees another fish, he feels obligated to defend his territory. You don’t think the bully is stressed out every time he sees another person that he thinks is trying to take over his property.
Stressed out fish are more vulnerable to sickness.
