The NHL lost me with it's strikes/lockouts, realignments, going to the shoot-out and switching the points format... that combined with the local team being very bad now. When pro-sports start doing those things, they lose people and it takes a local team winning to bring alot of them back. The NFL is a little bit different because the games are so few but this is likely just a precursor of things to come. Eventually it'll be an 18 game season, and I think the real aim is to put teams in Canada, Mexico, and Europe possibly even leading to NFL Europe, NFL Canada, and NFL Mexico. That would then result in the end of the Super Bowl era and the beginning of the World Bowl era, more or less.

Hate it what the greedy owners should have done was add a 2nd bye week creating a 17 week season.
Adding a game only means more injuries God i hope we never have a super bowl with two backup QB's.

They play the game anyway... or hasn't anybody noticed? For those of us watching, it's better to watch a game that means something instead of paying watching a boring game with a bunch of 2nd and 3rd stringers by halftime.

I like having one more game to watch but having one less exhibition game reduces the chances coaches have in evaluating rookies

In my opinion, it's just a shameless cash grab. One more game, one more game to make more money at the gate.
