Why does the media use the term “serving their constituents” when talking about politicians ?

Nobody is voting for a politician because they think they're pure and angelic in nature, but because the politician will vote and legislate in accordance with what the voter approves.  By threatening to replace them with another candidate should they displease their constituents, that is how politicians are kept in check and aligned to the wishes of the majority of their constituents.

When elected officials displease the voters, they are subject to recall, like Gavin Newsom, and Gray Davis before him, or they may be primaried out of office, like Eric Cantor or Joe Lieberman, or they can just lose support from their base and the opponent wins.

But without that threat, they don't heed their constituents and only visit them to mouth platitudes every 2, 4 or 6 years.

I don't remember ever in my life being asked a goddamn thing by any politician except in a rhetorical manner...and I've met a few.

The so called "mainstream news media" is just the propaganda arm of the DemoKKKrat party.

A simple examination of the difference in "news" coverage for the last 4 years compared to the 24/7 a$s kissing for the previous 8 years tells the story.

Remember gas hitting record high prices under Obama? No? Never been that high before or sence. When the "news" media had to say something they went with "wellllll the president has nothing to do with gas prices". Some reported that "good news auto deaths are down because of high gas prices". Never reported as a negative when the swamp is in charge.
