You didn't get a Dishonorable Discharge.  In order to get a Dishonorable Discharge you must be convicted by a General Courts Martial.

Did you commit anything that would count as being dishonourable ?

There is no such thing as a DD from DEP.  

there is no such thing, DEP your not in the military, there are no discharges

A dishonorable discharge can only be issued by a court martial after being convicted of a handful of the worst felonies and aren't very common.  So, no, you don't have a DD.  

Based on what you have mentioned, I think that you only got an Entry-Level Discharge or Entry-Level Separation. ELD/ELS is not considered “good” or “bad”; it is like you have never been in the military at all (which you did not anyway). 

It is not all that easy to get the Dishonorable Discharge from the military. You would have to commit a serious crime and go to court-martial to get that discharge.

You do not get a dishonorable discharge from DEP, you cant because you haven’t served. You even stated the letter stated you could try again in 6 months. You were just released/discharged nothing more. Lots of people have issues and go though the same thing.
