How do I start this car properly?
I just bought a new Camaro with the push to start. So I put my foot on the break and push the button. How long am I supposed to push the button and break? I keep cranking it and I’m worried I’m gonna hurt the car.

With your foot on the BRAKE petal, push the start button for 1-2 seconds. Do Not touch the accelerator petal.

Step one; unwrap the owner's manual.
Step two: read the section on starting the engine.

First, push on the "brake." Why people misuse "break" is beyond me. Push on the brake first. Then hit the start button for less than one second. If that does not work, go back to the dealer.

Sounds like you shouldn't be allowed to drive

You just push the button in and out it is not like a an old key start where the driver has control of crank time - it will crank without you holding the button until it starts. Some newer keyed cars work this way too.
