NY Times reports vaccines for over 80's might not work due to weakened immune systems,should they get the antibody test to see if it worked?

    Everyone should wear masks anyway, even after vaccination.

    No, the recommendation is to use masks and social distance until one has achieved herd immunity. 

    Antibody tests do not assure immunity. Antibody tests are sensitive and not quantitative only positive or negative and we don't know if there is enough antibodies present to confer immunity. It also isn't qualitative. We don't know if those antibodies with the test are neutralizing antibodies as that is a different test that is required to determine that.

     It can be a false assurance to rely on antibody tests.
