When I’m wakening up most mornings for a few seconds/minute or two it seems as if I am confused?
Hi I am a 31 year old male and for about 6 months now I have not felt great at all, throughout the day I get moments almost as if my life seems strange or people seem strange or objects, especially in the morning when I wake it’s the worst it’s almost as if then I’m completely confused about things and my family ie when I look at my Mrs and daughter for a brief moment I think this is strange, is this anxiety? Things that happen earlier in the day almost seem as if it happened so long ago and I panic because I then think I have memory loss, I recently got bloods taken and nothing harmful showed up but I really don’t feel right, if for some reason I find it hard to remember something I think I used to be able to remember easily I get worked up thinking I have Alzheimer’s or a form of dementia, I want to lose talk to a professional but am scared, I know I will speak to one eventually but can anyone on here give me any advice?

I understand the worry, but if it makes you feel any better, I am only 21 yrs old and have experienced similar things. I've had periods of time where I wake up very confused, and have to try hard to remember going to sleep the night before. I go through periods of time where I am just a bit "out of it", where the mornings seems so long ago, and when someone asks me what I did that day I can't remember anything I did. We are both very young to be having early signs of Alzheimer's. There are a lot of different things that can cause these confused feelings and forgetfulness, and dementia is just one of them. Given your age, it's likely not dementia (unless you have a family history of early onset dementia). It could be a mental health issue, or a physical issue. I would try to take note of anything else that feels "off" (like maybe you feel more anxious, more stress at work, lower energy, more easily distracted, less motivation, lower appetite, etc). and then see a doctor just in case.

I would talk to a doctor. Some of the answers here might be totally wrong, and if they are, they will make you feel worse. But maybe this will make you feel better. I always did get some exercise. But for the past month I have been exercising longer and more vigorously. My mental abilities have really picked up.

Yes, it's the beginning of Alzheimers. You are young for that. Does it run in your family?
