No.  The average Jew thought he was a prophet.  That's why the ruling Levites had to arrange his death illegally and on the quiet.

Salvation was offered to the Jews "first", Romans 1:16, John 4:22.

It's the role of Jews to set a good moral example to the rest of the world.  If there were Jews with this mindset back then, they weren't doing that.

Thats part of the issue. The Pharisees had always argued against Jesus fraternizing with Gentiles that they had been taught to hate and steer clear of. Jesus is the most misunderstood figure in human history. Those who hate him dont understand who he is...unless they hate love, righteousness and justice. These are what he stands for and teaches. 

I don't think so. It seems more likely that IF a lot of Jews hated Jesus, it was because they regarded him as blasphemous, or at least heretical.
