Should John be pursuing Jane?

John is 50 and isn't sure about having kids.

Jane is 38 and has made it clear on her profile that she wants to date someone less than 46 years old.

Jane finds the idea of dating a man well over a decade older than her absolutely disgusting!

She has also made it clear that she wants children.

John isn't sure if he wants children.

Should John be expecting Jane to put aside her age preference and desire to have children to marry him?

Update:

Anonymous, you can go and just **** yourself. If John is the only man left, then I would choose to be single for the rest of my life. Either that, or I would marry and both physically and verbally abuse him. I would make him understand that I HATE him and he would run away.

FYI, I do have a boyfriend around my age.

It will be hard to make Jane change her mind about kids if she has always wanted to become a mother. The age difference is easier because when you really like someone , age doesn't matter. I think the word "disgusting" a little harsh... I find a lot of older men very good looking and nice also .

If John has children from previous marriage, the kids are probably all grown up and it's understandable not wanting children anymore.

In my opinion, the age here is not the problem. Jane wants kids. Will she resent John in the future for giving up her desire to have children? Why Jane be the one making the sacrifice? There are many possibilities and scenarios here....

Who else is gonna marry her, she's three years past hysterical pregnancy? If she wanted to marry somone around her age she should have done that in her early 20's.
