So, when do I get old enough to think GOP policies are good for the bottom 98% of us?
They say you have to be old to appreciate that Trickle down economics really does work. How much longer do I have to wait? The older I get, the more disappointing the legacy of trickle down economics gets. And they way (socially conservative) seniors insist the young pay for their permanent vacation, it seems that one becomes more liberal, not conservative as they get older. All ''conservative" really means is just accumulated bitterness.
So I have to subsidize red state trash like YOU, Moonshot?
@anonywuss: I am a former Republican and laugh at anyone who ever take Trvmp seriously.

The trigger for me was Trump's candidacy for president. He presented a new face to conservative ideas. He was against failed trade deals such as Nafta and the outsourcing of US jobs, he was against "forever wars", he brought up the issue of unchecked immigration to the US. Then I saw how the mainstream media all ganged up on him and smeared him every chance I got, I knew he must be doing something right. I was about 36 at the time.
Before Trump all I'd seen of the right was endless wars and the failed trickle down economics and failed presidency of GW Bush and I felt just like you do now. I'm still not a big fan of trickle down economics but I do recognize the need for some inequality to exist and for some rich people to exist to provide the investment capital that the economy needs to keep moving.
It's generally said that "if you're not a liberal at 20 you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at 40 you have no brain". But there isn't an exact age when you'll be more conservative, it will instead be some sort of event will trigger you to re-evaluate your positions. That trigger could come sooner than you think. Perhaps your state governor will introduce a Covid vaccine passport system, force you to get vaccinated to keep your job, then when you develop a permanent disability a few years after your Covid vaccine that you never wanted in the first place, that will be the trigger that wakes you up.
