What do you have in your garden?

I have a small yard. I've put in raised beds, and I've planted tomatoes, cucumbers, zuccinni, broccoli, onions, rhubarb, lettuce, kale and snow peas so far. I have some raspberry plants winding around the trellis on my deck. Last year was the first year for them, and they didn't produce any berries, but I have hope for this year. I'm also sprouting some potatoes in hopes of planting them. Raised beds are a whole lot easier to maintain, in terms of weeding. I'm in the South, so we're past our last freeze date. 

In my garden there are two ponds, one big and one small, that currently have tadpoles in them. Beyond the ponds, along the rear boundary,  are various tall trees (crab apple, copper beach, goldcrest, paper-bark birch and columnar cypresses. Half way along my garden are arches and  a trellis that support a well established  wisteria. Just beyond the wisteria, to the left boundary is a large summer house with decking outside (about 6 mtrs x 3.6 mtrs). Just before the wisteria is a smaller summer house that is used as a shed to store garden tools, various gazebos, garden umbrellas and food for wild birds. There are hedges and tall trees to both sides of the garden so, from about half way along, you cannot see any other houses and they cannot see you. There are couple of flower borders, a flowering cherry tree and a massively tall Cordyline that looks like a palm tree but isn't. Most of the area is covered by lawn. There are a few bird feeders and 7-8 nest boxes in various places that seem to be popular with blue t!ts, gold finches and green finches ... and even bees sometimes. It takes a lot of looking after but I really appreciate having the private space.

If I had to recommend simple things to make a garden interesting, I would suggest having a bird feeder, ideally near vegetation so the birds have somewhere to hide, and something to offer fresh, clean water to the wildlife.Sunflower seeds (sunflower hearts if you can afford them) attract far more birds that the cheaper mixed grains ever do.
