Is this sentence correct?

"I work 7 hours in a day". I would know if the preposition "in" is correct in this context.

    "I work seven hours a day".  "seven" is spelled out, it's not "7 hours".

    Leave out the "in."

    "I work a seven hour day," is acceptable.

    It's technically correct but ..Leave out the "in" it sounds better

     I work 7 hours  a day
