How do I tell my son that his rap songs aren't good?

My son is thirteen, and he's recently started making these soundcloud raps with all these sad, low-key instrumentals, all about pain, but it's all so contrived. What does he have to be sad about? He spends all goddamn weekend playing Minecraft. I'll admit I'm a bit of an old head. I grew up with A Tribe Called Quest, Black Moon, Smif-n-Wessun, De La Soul- that 90s NYC ****. But this new **** is boo-boo, in my humble opinion. I told my son that one time I beat Mos Def in an arm-wrestling contest, and he doesn't even know who that is! So he's not impressed by it! How does he think that makes me feel? Should I tell him how I really feel about his crappy rap songs, or should I just keep lying to him, so that he never learns anything!

Update:

Excuse me, Furloughed Hooker, maybe elderly white a**holes like you think "rap is s**t", but rap is actually extremely popular AND much of it is good. So don't claim to speak for "most people" when you really only speak for 89-year-old angry, lonely racists. That being said, my son's rap is indeed s**t.

    Sure they are no good.

However some of the biggest and most successful bands started in someone's garage or basement.  Gotta start somewhere.

    Buy him a rhyming dictionary.
