I rent a room in someone's house. I pay my portion of the rent every month. Well, the person who rents the other room has not paid since november, eats our food, refuses to work but also refuses to leave. Landlord is saying that in Florida, we all have to be evicted if we want her out since those of us that rent the rooms are not on the written lease. Is this true? I honestly can not believe that there is not a legal way to get this piece of trash out.

I had it set so that both screen displayed the same things. Somehow I changed it so that only the main laptop is displayed. The first time this happened, I just right clicked and told it to display both screens but this time for some reason the flat screen keeps telling me no signal. When I use safe mode with networking, the flat screen works so I went and tried to change the settings but it is only registering one monitor. How do I get it back to regular mode and both screens working regularly.

How does the speed of the 4g mobile hotspot feature when used for internet connection on a laptop compare to the wifi speed obtained at standard wifi spots such as the community library, mcdonald's etc. I do not need suggestions on alternatives, prices, etc. I know my alternatives, just looking for some advice as to the comparison of the speeds.

Have a laptop that suddenly would not connect to the internet. Says it is connected, but won't bring up a webpage. Been looking at a couple of solutions and tried them, but no luck. The ipconfig says the media is disconnected, but when I ping it, it all comes back okay. Have tried to disable and reinable it, made sure the driver is updated. Any other suggestions?

I think I have a virus on my hard drive. I have tried reformatting it, even deleting the partitions and starting over. Nothing works. Works for a few days, then gives me an error message and windows won't load. Can reformat and it will work for a couple of days to a week then same thing. Someone told me to reset it to zero and it will wipe out whatever is causing the problem but I don't know how and I can not find anything online that makes any sense. Any advice??

I know that a laptop overheating a lot can cause it to crash. My question is that when this happens, is it common to get corrupt sector messages and missing file messages when windows won't load.

HP Pavilion ze5185. I can run windows for a while and it will be fine as long as I add nothing else. As soon as I download anything else or use it heavily, it will crash. I am trying to download big fish games. I have played these same exact games for years on computers older than this one, so that is not the problem. Someone told me it sounded like my version of windows was corrupt so I got another install disk, but stlll the same problem. Someone else told me it sounded like I had a virus but I installed threatfire first thing last time it crashed before I downloaded anything else and it still happened. It reinstalls fine, so I don't think it is the hard drive itself. Could be the video card but I have no idea how to check and see if that is the problem. Anybody have any ideas? Keep in mind that I can run them fine but when they start having problems, I am lost, so please keep the language and suggestions as simple as possible. Thank you.

I have an LG220C thru straighttalk with bluetooth. I have heard that you can use this to connect to a laptop as a wifi connection but not sure how. I have tried several sites but it is like greek to me. Can someone please tell me how in as simple a language as possible.

I currently live in Florida. My soon to be ex lives in South Carolina in what was our home. He is getting a settlement from an injury and will also be getting SSI, with the back pay at some point. There was cheating involved in the past on his side. Also domestic abuse, both mental and physical. As the spouse, am I entitled to any part of his settlements during the divorce? We had agreed that he would purchase me a mobile home here in florida with part of the money, but I have since then gotten involved with someone else (after hubby and I separated). He has decided to give me nothing and charge me with adultery even though we have a notarized separation agreement that says he can't charge me with adultery if I become involved with someone after the separation. Separation was December 6, 2009. I did not start dating the new person until Jan 31. What are my rights?

Internet Explorer (v8.0) keeps crashing. When it does, I get a agcutils.dll error. I have several antivirus and malware/spyware programs and have run them all to no avail. I can not afford one of the online programs you have to pay to use and System Mechanic does not appear to be fixing the error. Any suggestions? I don't have a lot of technical expertise so I have been doing trial and error so far.

My daughter's computer has a virus of some sort. Not sure which one because once it showed itself, nothing would open anymore, including her antivirus software. Reinstalled windows xp so the computer was supposed like new but virus, or whatever it is, is still there. Anyone got any suggestions or a solution?

I think it would be a good thing for my son to join the military. He is an irresponsible, rude child at 19. He seems to think since he is the only son in his generation, one uncle has no sons and the other has no children, that the army will not take him. Is there any truth to what he is saying?

My marriage is in trouble due to money problems and an interfering mother. What is the outlook for the future?

My birth mother currently lives with me. When I found her, I initially felt like I found a missing piece of myself. Since then, I have discovered that she is manipulative, lies, tries to cause drama about everything and various other things. She outright lies about my son all of the time, conveniently forgets entire conversations when it suits her purpose to forget she was told not to do something. I can't have a conversation with any of my kids without her butting in. I can't have an argument with my husband, even in another room, without hearing her opinion. She crashed my computer three times but continues to deny doing anything wrong. Nothing is ever her fault. She is continously the one being wronged. She has accused various members of my family of taking her things and then the things will turn up in another spot. She yelled at my daughter for not doing her dishes, saying that she was not going to cook dinner and everyone would starve. The problem with that is that my daughter had been sick with the flu and could barely lift her head off the pillow. I blew up on her Friday when for the third time this week, she went behind my back to my husband and asked him if she could do something I have specifically told her not to do. What are your thoughts on this situation? I have made if plain that I have no desire to put up with her crap anymore, I was sick of the constant drama and problems that she causes and told her to leave. She knows my adoptive parents do not like her but is continously inviting herself along on family outings with them, sitting at the same table, usually next to them (like in Mcdonalds). My instinct is to make her leave before I have my third nervous breakdown due to her. I have reached the point where I simply don't care anymore. What do you guys think?

I seem to have inherited a 17 year old. His mother kicked him out. In south carolina, you can move out on your own at 17 with parents permission. he has that. my question is this. He does not have a copy of his birth certificate and neither does she (even if we could find her drunk butt). He has not school id which could be used as an id for the birth certificate. you have to have some sort of id to do what we want to help him with which is get his drivers permit and then license and then get him either back in school or get his ged. i have no idea where to start. also, his mom is getting $500 per month for him for I guess you would call social security benefits when his dad died. i have no idea where to start. can someone at least steer me in the right direction? I have every intention and no problems with helping this poor kid who's mother does not care anymore, i just do not have the foggiest idea how to even think about beginning.

I purchased a linksys router and have been trying to install it. My mission is to be able to be on the internet and Xbox 360 Live at the same time. I can't seem to get it to work. Computer says router is not connected when it is. I thought I had it working previously, at least, it went thru the steps, but then it was saying I had limited or no connectivity. I put in the installation cd again and now it is back to saying Router not connected. Please help. This is driving me insane.

Please tell me how I get Norton off my compuer. It is driving me nuts. Does not have its own uninstall. Add or Remove programs does not work because it says the live update is still running. How do I turn live update off? How do I get this very annoying program off my new computer?

I am so sick of my son and I don't know how to cope. He is 17. Will be 18 in October. He dropped out of school after spending 3 years in the 9th grade. Good grades when he applied himself, just couldn't be bothered to go to class and do his homework. 2 years ago, he took a joyride in a stolen golf cart. We are still dealing with that. $1000 for the lawyer. Multiple court dates. My husband (against my better judgement) bought him a used car. He blew the engine. We spent $800 for the car and another $600 to get it driveable. I certainly don't mind spending the money for things he needs if he is trying, but I am so tired of the smart mouth. The I'm not fuc$ing doing that. Fuc$3 that shi$%. Doing what he wants, when he wants, etc. It is causing arguments between me and his dad. I am so depressed, I am sitting here in tears and contemplating moving out. That would mean losing my husband and daughter. The two people who mean the most to me in this world. (Besides birthmom).
