  • Who sang these Irish/folk songs?

I am trying to find out who sang these Irish/folk songs. I copied these songs from a friend's tape about 25 years ago (don't laugh) and I'm not sure who sings them. I had Barley Bree written on the cassette case, but I've looked up Barley Bree and can't find these songs so I'm wondering if that's accurate. I've discovered some of the songs were by Makem & Clancy, but having no luck with these:

    The Gypsy Lad

Summer's Day (not sure if that's the actual title)

    Bold Fenian Man

    The Bricklayer

    Mountains of Pomeroy

    Here's to Song

Is it better to un-install a program using "Add or Remove programs" in the control panel or to go "Start", "All Programs", and use the programs un-install? Or does it matter?

  • Optimizing PC performance? ?

I ran across this download that's supposed to analyze your computer and then fix or remove stuff so the computer runs faster. But being a paranoid skeptic, I am hesitant to download it. It's called PC Pitstop Just wondering if anyone has used this and if it's worth spending $30 on. Or if you have any better suggestions for optimizing PC performance, I'd appreciate hearing them.

  • Concerning winged unicorns......?

Is there a proper name for a winged unicorn, other than winged unicorn or unicorn with wings? My dad jokingly calls them 'Pegacorns' combining unicorn and Pegasus. I once thought that a winged unicorn was called an alicorn, but then I read somewhere that the word alicorn actually refers to the unicorns horn. Any thoughts on the matter?

  • A question about gnomes?

Yes, gnomes. Those little creatures with the red hats that usually reside in gardens or woods. You know what I mean. Anyway, I was telling someone about some gnome figurines that I just bought and he told me that they might not be gnomes, they might instead be 'nessies' (not sure if that is the proper spelling). He said that gnomes' hats are bent over and nessies' hats are straight up. I have never heard of nessies and was just wondering if anyone else has heard of these creatures.

  • Need help watching a video, it's on my USB Flash Drive?

I gave a speech in my class and it was video taped, and then transferred to my USB Flash Drive. Now I have to watch it so I can do a self-evaluation. I have tried to view it on different players, but I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what.

On some (like Windows Media Player) I can HEAR the speech, but not SEE anything. On one player (I think it was VLC), I can SEE the video, but not HEAR it.

I have updated WMP, and tried a couple others, but I can't SEE and HEAR the video at the same time. What can I do to fix this problem?

  • Craft ideas for mittens and gloves?

My kids are experts at losing one mitten or glove of a pair, so I have a bagful of unmatched gloves. It seems a shame to just throw them out, so do you have any ideas for using them in (simple) craft projects?

I don't speak computer very well, but I'm thinking that it's a 2.66 gig Celeron processor. What does the 533FSB part mean? Is that the frequency?

(I'm supposed to be deciphering this computer ad for my class, but I'm just making a wild guess!)

  • Do you have a few select authors that you like to read or do you read many different ones?

I tend to 'get stuck' on certain authors, so that I end up with lots of books but very few authors. Lately when I go to the bookstore, I seem to seek out those familiar names first instead of looking for new ones. (Is it weird to have 'new author phobia'?!?!? And do you suppose there's a name for it? LOL)

  • Can you help me with a math problem?

Ok, it probably shouldn't be that difficult, but I just can't figure it out. If you can even just give me some advice on how to do it without actually giving me the answer, that would be great. Here's the problem: How many 9-inch square floor tiles are needed to cover a rectangular floor that measures 12 feet by 15 feet?
