A Level Biology question?
Hi, I just wanted to ask if anyone knew a good website or a good Youtuber that makes tutorial videos on AS/A2 biology and whether he/she explains ad teaches exam skills to get the best possible marks (like Exam Solutions or The Khan Academy). My biology is quite weak and any help would be really appreciated. Oh, for the AQA Exam board as well...
Thank you in advance and God bless! :)
2 AnswersBiology9 years agoMedicine question help please?
Hi, today I got my AS results and I wasn't that pleased with them... Here they are:
Maths: A
Psychology: A
Chemistry: B
Biology: B
Providing that everything else I have done in terms of Medicine (like work shadowing and stuff) will I be able to even get a conditional offer in Manchester University (or any other University, if that is the case)? Please answer me as I am really worried and I will also be resitting some papers again...
Thank you very much.
P.S. (I was hoping to get at least 3 As, but now what's done it's done...)

1 AnswerMedicine9 years agoCan anybody advise me some books?
Hi, I am currently studying in college (UK) and I'd like to apply for medicine. The part that I am most interested about is cardiology. I am 17 and was wondering whether anybody could advise me some books on the heart or just really good medicine books (perhaps something on the history of medicine) that are suitable for my age. I don't want anything too complicated to read as I feel that without understanding the book, it will be difficult to grasp the concepts required for medicine and cardiology. Thank you.
2 AnswersMedicine9 years agoAny advice for medicine work experience/shadowing please?
So I am a year 12 student studying my A Levels (this year is almost finished). I was hoping whether anyone could give some advice on how to get work experience (like in hospitals and home care centres). I mean, what should I say to them when I call them? I just want to do some voluntary work, and I'd be happy to help out. Any advice on centres like charity shops and hospices would be gold to me. Any extra info would be much appreciated. Also, do you need any sort of documentations or something if you are doing voluntary work? Thank you very much and God bless.
PS (any help on personal statement???) :)
4 AnswersMedicine9 years agoHey, did anybody do the May 2012 OCR F322 paper?
I did that paper and I was wondering if I could have your opinions on it... Could you please also estimate the grade boundaries (I think I personally got around 78 - and PLEASE don't tell me that the grade boundaries for an A is higher than 80, because I think I am going to have a heart attack!) And do you think that approximately 78/100 is going to be enough to get me at LEAST 78%??? Please answer me and you can also e-mail me: awadil@hotmail.co.uk
Thanks.
1 AnswerChemistry9 years agoWhat did you guys think of the AQA Biology AS Unit 1 May 2012 paper?
I just want your opinions on how this paper was, not answers to any of the questions. I thought there were some terribly pesky questions (ie, cyanide). These stupid examiners should stop putting weird questions out of nowhere. But anyway, what did you guys think of the paper and any possible grade boundaries please.
PS. Any extra info on what to revise for Unit 2 Bio would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
1 AnswerBiology9 years agoHey, do you think A Level Psychology is a 'soft' subject?
I am a year 12 student and would like to study medicine - cardiology, to be exact (hopefully at Oxford or Imperial). I have chosen A level biology, maths, chemistry and psychology. I would like to drop psychology next year because it just requires too much effort and would like to pick up AS Level further maths (and carry on with A2 biology, maths and chemistry). So, what is your opinion? Thank you.
P.S. Could you please recommend me anything that will make it easier to get into Oxford?
Any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you again!!!
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 years agoCan you get into Oxford/Cambridge if you resit any of your A Level modules?
Or any other top university in the UK, for example London college or Imperial college etc... I would like to get into medicine (cardiology specifically). Please any other information would be much appreciated.
10 points for the best answer and thank you very much!!!
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 years agoWhy am I so frustrated all the time?
Hey guys, I am a 17 years old boy and I was wondering why I am so depressed and angry all the time. The thing is that I get upset at little and quite meaningless things. Like when I am trying to do some work and I can't quite get to the answer, I just want to punch a wall... Is there anything you people can advise me to improve this stupid habit of mine? ANY HELP would be very much appreciated! Oh and also, can you also give me some advise on how to organize my time properly so that I spend more time studying and revising. Thanks again.
4 AnswersPsychology9 years agoHello, can anybody answer this question?
Do universities in the UK provide a course for students to study Quantum Chemistry/Physics/Mechanics? I was asking because I always hear people in America talk about these subjects and not in the UK. Also, if you have already done a science related course at Uni and have got job, can you do another course again in Uni (like the ones mentioned above)? Thank you for your answer in advance!
4 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 years agoCan anybody tell me how to get into Cambridge University?
Hello, I am 17 years of age and currently doing my first year of college. I'd like to get in Cambridge for medicine. I am fully aware of the A Level targets I need to achieve, and the fact that it is very difficult to get into there as well (especially for medical/law applicants). But I would like some advice on what I can do extra as well to improve my chance outside college. Any bits of information would be much appreciated. Thank you.
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)9 years agoHello guys, your opinion on the friday the 13th jan 2012 exam.....?
Well, on the 13th of jan I did my AS OCR chemistry exam (F321) and the Edexcel maths exam (C1).
I just wanted to know what your opinion on them was, the possible grade boundaries and just comments.... Personally, I thought they were harder than I thought and I also checked some posts and threads, and some people literally cried. I was fairly confident, but those two exams simply crushed my morale. I won't be looking forward to this year...
4 AnswersStandards & Testing9 years agoCan anyone please give me advice for my future educational career?
Hello everybody, I just wanted to ask one thing. I am 17 years old and studying at a 6th form college. I am doing AS chemistry, AS biology, AS maths and AS psychology. What I wanted to ask was that when I first started college, I wanted to do Physics instead of Psychology. However, I became stressed so I chose psychology. I will definately drop psychology, and carry with A2 bio, Chem and Maths. My question is, should I pick Physics AS (not A2) next year (just for a good experience - because I always wanted to do physics). I also plan to do stay in college for 2 years, and I realise that I will only get a half of A Level physics. I would like to go to a really good university and become a doctor.Thank you very much for your reply.
