  • Desktop won't boot with processor..?

    I ordered a core 2 duo e4600 for an older dell dimension e510 that has a pentium 4. I swapped them out and it wont boot, its obviously a processor problem but I want to know why, I did as much research as I could and came to the conclusion that it /might/ work.

    Both processors support the same 945 boards, yet the core 2 duo wont get my computer to boot. Any thoughts as to why this might be?
