Would you recommend taking a 5 year old girl to see the California Ballet's Nutcracker?
The tickets can go over $100 and I'm just wondering if it's worth it for a 5 year old, or is it more just for adults? I'm thinking of taking my whole family as christmas gifts. But I don't want snooty people giving me dirty looks for bringing a 5 year old.
I'v heard that the nutcracker is a kids' event, just wondering about this high end version of it.
5 AnswersPerforming Arts1 decade agoDoes clomid make your cycles regular each month?
My first cycle on clomid, I ovulated on day 14, and had the iui on day 16. This is my second cycle on clomid and it's day 18 and I still haven't ovulated. Should be tomorrow. The np looked on day 16 and I had 2 follicles about 18 mm in size.
Why am I ovulating so late this time? I would've thought that the clomid would make all of the cycles identical. Should I write this cycle off as a failure?
4 AnswersTrying to Conceive1 decade agoI'll be soon travelling to San Francisco with a toddler (2 1/2). Can we have her in a taxi without a carseat?
Will the taxi refuse us service? If not, is it against the law to not have her in a car seat in a taxi? I'm really trying to avoid lugging along a carseat. What's the practical thing to do?
10 AnswersSan Francisco1 decade agoWhat significance does New York's light sliding down a pole on midnight of new year's have?
It just seems so arbitrary. What does it actually symbolize or signify? And does anyone know the history of it? How long has it been a tradition?

3 AnswersComedy1 decade agoMy mom is about to start radiation treatment for cancer. Should I avoid contact with her if I'm pregnant?
Does anyone know if people being treated with radiation pass the radiation to others taking care of them?
11 AnswersCancer1 decade agoDoes anyone know a nursery in the san diego area who will come to your house and recommend appropriate plants?
I have a shaded area on the north side of my house and I'm not sure what kind of plants to get. I don't really trust my "gardner" to put plants I like there, so I want to pick them out myself. I'm kind of clueless in this area.
3 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoHow long after weaning does the pain go away?
I've had my daughter completely weaned off of breastfeeding for about 8 days now and I'm still very lumpy and it's very painful. How long does this take to go away? I did the weaning gradual- eliminating 1 feeding over a few days. And the last week I was down to only the before bed feeding.
7 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoHow can people who drive big stupid trucks/SUVs afford the gas?
Are these people just going into further debt to drive their stylish assault vehicles. I really don't see the appeal of these large vehicles. They're dangerous to themselves and others on the road, they're gas guzzlers, and they're hard to park. I am so sick of these people taking the "compact" parking spaces and trying to run me off the highway just because they're in a bigger vehicle than me. I guess these people don't realize what a**holes they are. Or do they?
And, yes, I can afford an assault vehicle, so I'm not just jealous. I actually have a brain in my head, so I don't drive one.
13 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation1 decade agoWhy was my baby sobbing this morning?
I woke up to the sounds of my 1 year old sobbing in her crib this morning. This is so unlike her- she usually wakes up laughing. I went and got her out of the crib and she wouldn't let me put her down for about an hour. If I put her down she'd scream. This is all so unlike her. Was this just a nightmare or something? Was she so traumatized that she wouldn't even scream out loud, just sit and sob and whimper? God, it was heartbreaking.
10 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoI'm scared to death of bees. Is there a bee-phobia?
Am I a total freak who needs counselling for my bee-phobia? Or is it pretty normal to be afraid of bees? I have nightmares at least once a week about bees.
9 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoOpinion? Is Donald Trump smart or stupid?
He seems to say really weird things in his little soapbox sessions that he puts into his show "The Apprentice". Like "you can never sleep" or "The most important thing is ..." except he's had at least 3 different most important things.
20 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoDoes everybody have a false alarm health scare in their mid to late 30's?
I recently spent 2 weeks thinking I was going to die of cancer because a dr. scared the daylights out of me. Abnormal ct scan of my lungs, may be just a booger... blah blah blah. I guess I'm not out of the woods yet, but statistically it's a ball of mucus and not a tumor in my lungs. I have to go back every 3 months for 2 years to confirm that this thing is nothing.
Anyway, I'm totally healthy, good weight, eat right, exercise, etc. Why do dr's have to scare the daylights out of you like that?
5 AnswersOther - General Health Care1 decade agoI like cheese. Do you?
People say eating too much cheese will make you fat and clog your arteries. But french people eat way more cheese than Americans, and they're skinny and don't have more heart disease. Why is this?
14 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoAnyone know about drip irrigation? How to fix a leak in a system?
I have a drip irrigation system that leaks out of one of the openings constantly. I had to turn the system timer off and it still leaks. Then, I went and turned the valve to the system off and it still leaks.
Does anyone know someone good in the San Diego area who could fix this?
1 AnswerSan Diego1 decade agoDr's suggest 18 months between pregnancies. What does this mean?
Does this mean 18 months of not being pregnant? Or 18 months from beginning of one pregnancy to beginning of next pregnancy? If it's the latter, why don't they just say 18 months between births to clear up the confusion? Also, if it's the latter, that's only 9 months off from being pregnant to let your body rest. Is that enough time? I thought you generally need at least 1 year to recover.
14 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoWho thinks Clinton has lost his privileges to tell anyone to tell the truth.?
I'm talking about how Clinton is telling ABC to tell the truth about their 9/11 special. Ok, we have the right to see accuracy in the tv show, but he should feel at least a little hypocritical telling anyone to tell the truth. Agree/Don't agree?
6 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoWhat's going to happen on the Office when it premieres next week?
Will Pam marry the warehouse dude? Or dump him and date Jim? Does everyone hate that it's supposed to be a comedy and they're making it all dramatic.
