  • My router is Netgear, I wish to put another PC on my network, do I need to use a Netgear network adapter?

I purchased a Netgear RangeMax Wireless-N USB 2.0 USB Adapter, it all works fine using Windows XP, but my new computer is Windows 7. I learned the hard way that this particular model is incompatible so I figure I'll just return it for one that works with Windows 7. My only problem concern is whether a Belkin USB Adapter (for example) would be compatible with a Netgear router. Or would it absolutely have to be of the same companies hardware? Any thoughts or other suggestions that might help are welcome. Tips on improving the signal strength are also appreciated, since I spent $60 on a piece of hardware, and when installed on my laptop, provided the exact same signal strength it picked up by itself.

  • WiFi problems. No matter what I do, I can't connect to another player. How can I resolve this?

I started with a Netgear router, and assumed that the problem was the router. I've looked on every site I can find, and I'm told if I constantly get the same error, to disable the firewall, go into port forwarding settings, etc etc, but nothing has been of any help.

I can't connect to another player through WiFi with my DS, I can't connect to another player on Super Smash Brothers Brawl. My Wii is clearly online, I can go on Spectate and watch other players online. I have just bought a Linksys router, the identical one my friend owns. He has had absolutely no problem connecting to the internet and playing other people through WiFi. I would assume that the problem would lie with the Wii, but then at least the DS would work. The same error, 86420 repeatedly appears. Sometimes other errors appear.

The laptop has no problem connecting wirelessly. If two different routers don't work, and the fault doesn't lie with the Wii or the DS, it would have to be the connection.. but if the laptop can connect just fine then what the heck is it?! After a hundred dollars for a router that works just as well as the last one. And countless hours of trying to play with my friends, I am absolutely clueless as to how to progress. Anyone copying and pasting from a site word for word, is probably showing me what I've been looking at for the past few hours.

  • Am I allowed a 90 day stay in the USA under the Visa Waiver Program after a previous 30 day stay this year?

I wish to go back to the USA. This time for the full 90 day stay under the Visa Waiver Program. I have already stayed for 30 days this year during June/July. Am I still allowed to go back to the USA this year and stay for 90 days? Also, how many days am I allowed to stay in the USA per year under the VWP? Sources are preferred. Thank you.

  • Will marrying my girlfriend allow me to enter the country (USA) to be with her indefinitely?

Since I can't get into the country to be with my girlfriend any other way. We've decided to get married, she's a US citizen, if we got married, would that allow us to be together immediately without having to wait longer than a year? I keep getting mixed information from friends, some even tell me that even if we got married I may have to wait three years before I'm accepted into the country. What's the real truth? Even if I'm not considered a permanent resident at first, will I at least be able to stay with her in the country?

  • I'm a British citizen and I want to move to the USA, how would I do that now?

I have high school equivalent education, but have never really had a job. I'm not eligible for the Green Card Diversity Lottery either. Is there a way I can enter the USA under a work visa, to do a standard job that doesn't require you to have any special skills. I'm devoid of any special skills for employment. All I want to do is move to the US, get an average job and live there for as long as the US allows me, I've looked up a bit on US immigration and I seem to have found every door shut to me. Yes I'm sure I want to move to another country, I don't need answers telling me I shouldn't think about moving, or anything to that effect. I'm after answers, please, if anyone knows if it's possible I need details on what I need to do in order to get to that goal. I repeat, I have NO prior work experience.

  • I plan on buying a plane ticket from Opodo or Ebookers, should I expect any problems?

I'm very weary about purchasing such stuff online, what if the plane ticket doesn't arrive in time? Actually I can't really think of anything more than that, but I'm concerned. Should I be?

  • I need help getting online with an Emulator game. Anyone know how?

I own Puzzle League and Panel De Pon, I've emulated them both, but I would like to know how to get online play with Panel De Pon, I'm wondering if I need a certain SNES emulator, or a specific ROM of Panel De Pon, does anybody know if that is true and what I would need to do to get either? Also what steps would I need to take to set up and play online matches? Note: It's not illegal to emulate copies of games you have purchased, nor is it illegal to emulate a system which you have, I would like no answers telling me emulators are illegal. You're clearly misinformed.

  • I'm planning a vacation to the United States, what preparations do I need?

I'm had all my vaccinations, I'm thinking more about documentation. I have a passport and am eligible for the visa waiver program, should I acquire a visa anyway to be sure? Where would I get my I-94 form from? Am I supposed to have it filled out before I get to the airport? Is there anything that is especially noteworthy that I may not have done. I'm heading to Houston. Help appreciated.

  • Things keep breaking in our rented property. Is the landlord's father capable of doing this?

As mentioned in the question, things keep breaking in our rented property. Once we've informed the estate agents, they inform our landlord about the problems and on every separate occasion the landlord's father has been the one to come and attempt to fix the problem. He isn't a professional electrician, nor is he very good at D.I.Y. style tasks.

Each time the estate agents contact the landlord about a problem, he gets his Dad to come and fix the problems with the house. Though he messes things up, makes terrible jobs of things or doesn't fix it at all.

The man who comes around to check the gas every year is also a friend of the landlord, he has seen our fireplace for the past three years and each time just said it's fine. Despite us complaining about it being unsafe. The other day we got two plumbers in the house who capped the gas flow after saying it was a health and safety hazard. Now we've been without a fire place for a week, my mother is struggling to keep warm and now the landlords Dad is coming around to ensure it meets health and safety criteria by adding a new piece to the fireplace. But this guy has screwed up every single job he's ever done. There's no way that the landlord's Dad can legally perform jobs on the property his son rents out, which should be carried out by trained professionals. I need to know whether it's legal for him and what my options are for removing Captain Screw Up from fixing any further problems. Or causing them.

  • I have firmware upgrade problems, anybody know what to expect when upgrading?

My router is Netgear WNR834B. I need to upgrade to get my Wifi connection up and running but when I download I reach a message which says "Continue? All existing Internet connections will be terminated." Since I use a laptop I'm worried that when I end my wireless communications by upgrading from the PC I won't be able to get my laptop back online and I don't want to risk it without knowing what I'm doing. Can anyone talk me through upgrading, step by step, so I don't accidentally leave myself without a laptop and unable to complete my future school work. Assistance is greatly appreciated.

  • I just bought Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the Nintendo Wii. Why can't me and my friend add each other?

I live in the EU and he lives in the USA. Is this the problem? It merely comes up with "There is a mistake in the Friend Code you entered."

  • A friend isn't going to school, what will happen to her?

My friend suffers from a nervous disorder which makes going to school very emotionally distressing for her. Now she has seventy two hours to contact the school, and she is worried that she might be placed in foster care and doesn't know what to do. Can anyone tell me what is likely to happen, and will she really end up in foster care? What is there that can be done about it?

  • Is there any way to access my myspace account if I've forgotten my password?

The account was created before the option to request an email to change your password existed so requesting the password is out. Is there any back doors into my profile? Or is there another way around this?

  • Are there risks in the future when dating someone who was younger than you (14-16) when you where (18-19)?

Sex is not going to be involved. I'm wondering if you date someone who is younger than you when in your teens, if you are still together when you are older is there (lawful) risks involved in kissing them or openly admitting to being in a relationship with them.
