  • Missing Christmas?

Is anyone else missing Christmas besides me?Took all the decorations down including the tree yesterday.I usually wait until after January 6 which is Three Kings Day to take down decorations but since today is back to school, back to work day, decorations have to put away.House is so empty, didn't feel like Christmas came at all.

  • Artificial pumpkin or real pumpkin?

Used to buy real pumpkins for decorating outside but ever since the squirrels started to eat them, been using fake ones instead. It's more economical and they come in variety of sizes and colors, dark orange, deep red, green etc.Still use real pumpkins for carving of course. And I know there is a repellant but will stick to the artificial and mums.

  • Fall is just around the corner. When do you start decorating for fall?

Weather wise, it has been cool towards the morning and I know it's only August but I feel like it is fall already with a touch of spring (been a rainy summer).Went to a church flea market over the weekend and I bought a few fall decors. Can't wait to decorate. How about you? Dread winter of course.

  • Are you having a rocking 2014 yet?

Went back to work last night after being off for five days.Did a 12 hour shift.Took a nap for two hours.Went to the dentist and made my own usual noodles and Chinese dumplings soup for supper. Then realized it's still Chfistmas(Russian Christmas)so I took my wine glass out, poured me some sparkling wine with mango juice(my own concoction)and right now I'm listening to Christmas music!Crazy right?Lol!

  • Re-gifting:Is it tacky or being practical?

What do you think?I re-gift.Not sweaters or kitchen appliances but mostly fragrances from Bath and Body I got from exchange gifts.I have a lot because it's being given the most by everyone at work.I'd rather give it to somebody who can use it instead of it collecting dust. It's a sin to throw away stuff when there are people out there who doesn't have much.

  • Fake, real or none at all?

The thrill of the hunt(not really especially when it's freezing cold outside),you have to cut it,and if they don't have the size you want.Off to the next Christmas tree farm you go.Nevertheless, still like a real Christmas tree and the smell of pine is nice. Will get fake tree when I get old and decrepit ;-)

  • When is the best time to decorate for Christmas?

If it were up to me I would've decorated already.Where I came from the "ber months" starts the Christmas season. The decorations come out as early as September and the radio stations play Christmas music. But out of respect for Thanksgiving I wait the day after to decorate.Thanksgiving is being upstaged by Christmas.Thanksgiving should be it's own holiday. It would've been better if it fell on September or October before Halloween or even early November. So,how about you? When do you start decking the halls?

  • Should I apologize to my neighbor?

Had a scream fight with my neighbor who lives two houses away from me.There is an issue with her daughter who plays with my kids and two more kids in the neighborhood. Her daughter was in the same kindergarten class with my son. They got along fine until they went to first grade. She's only 7 and has a dirty mouth(using f-word,a-word etc). When she gets mad she throws stuff around even if it's not hers.I had a talk with her and told her not to throw stuff around because if something gets broken her parents wouldn't like that and that they would have to replace it.She likes to get physical when she gets mad.She pushed the other neighbor's kid who is 5. She slapped my daughter's mouth for no reason and said the f-word and then she pulled down my son's pants down and pulled down hers.Second time she did it again and told my kids it's their turn to show their privates. There's issues with her at school with other kids too.I had a talk with her father and we decided that if she does stuff again that that's it. We'll,she pushed my son off his bike twice and I sent her home.Since then I never let my kids play with her. Here the mother called me and wanted to know what we're going to do since school will start soon and we will see each other at the bus stop. I told her and her husband that my kids will sit next to each other and so are the two kids in the neighborhood since they are brothers. She told me it's a mean thing to do and that we are ostracizing her daughter when they already took the tv and game privileges away from her.She was the one who screamed at me first and because I couldn't take it any longer about her telling me that she is a Penn State graduate, her father belongs to a country club or something and that he knows the school principal, and that her son is in the honor roll and plays football in highschool, and that the daughter is in ballet which I know already and that she is top ten in her tennis class.I blew up.I yelled at her back.
