  • English to Spanish Translation Help?

I'm at work and have a customer in Puerto Rico that only speaks spanish. I used to be near fluent 7 years ago, however now my spanish isn't like it used to be. I was hoping someone here could please help translate the following email correctly. I want to say something like:

"I apologize that you received the wrong book. We will ship Risk Management, 5th Edition out to you today. You will receive this book by Wednesday. You may keep the other book. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you and have a great day!"

I've seen several translations so far, and want to make sure get it right, not sound like a moron & don't insult her in any way.

    Gracias!

  • Gift Ideas For Parents 25 Year Wedding Anniversary?

    Hey all,

My parents will be having their 25 year wedding anniversary next weekend. They are going to be having a big party to celebrate. The problem is that I live in Illinois, and they in California. I would like to give them the gift of me being there, but sadly doesn't look like that is able to happen. It's too short notice, and even if it wasn't, my fiance & I don't have that kind of extra cash right now. Soooo...I am in need of some ideas on something to do or get for them. I wouldn't say we are very close, as we have recently reconnected after not speaking for about 5 years, and are slowly rebuilding the relationship, but I would very much like to do *something* for them.

    Ideas? Suggestions? Comments?

    Thanks in advance!!

  • Legal for Human resources to share resumes?

Is it legal for Human resources to share resumes of potential employees with other employees of the company? This just seems a little wrong to me. To share with the owner and President of the company, fine, but other employees that have no say in whom gets hired? Hmmm....Seems like the HR Manager at my work likes to gossip a bit much.

  • How to introduce myself to neighbors?

    Hey all,

My fiance and I just moved from an apartment to our new house Saturday. In the past, i never really introduced myself to neighbors, but would say hi in passing and that sort of thing. Since we have now bought a house, and plan to stay there a long time, it would be nice to know the neighbors. Our house is located on a corner lot, the front door facing a court with a total of 5 houses in it(including ours) and the other half of the house is on a drive. I was thinking of going to the next door neighbors on both sides this week, but I don't really know how do go about it, I feel so awkward already. Any suggestions for the shy & socially inept? lol. Also, should I go to the other 3 houses in the court? Or should I just wait until we see each other outside sometime, wave and go from there?

Thank you in advance for the help!!

  • What to do with 'ruined' fudge?

    Hey all!

So last week I made some fudge. The recipe called for semi-sweet chocolate but unfortunately, the wrong kind of baking chocolate was bought(unsweetened) which I didn't notice until I was tasting it a day later. It is extremely bitter & I can't pass it out for gifts. But, I really hate to waste all this fudge (~ 35 pieces worth), and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what I can do with this chocolate now. There must be some sort of recipe I can add the chocolate to or something..........

    Thanks in advance!!

  • Sympathy gift ideas for mother of premature newborn?

    Hey all.

My best friend(pretty much like a sister to me) gave birth to a premature baby girl yesterday. My friend was only 5 months along. The baby died 2 hours after being born. I am distraught that I cannot be with my friend right now to support and help her through this difficult time, because money is more than tight with me right now. I live in Illinois, she in California. So, I was trying to figure out something I could send her as a sympathy gift, since I can't fly out there; but I am having a very hard time finding something that isn't outrageously expensive. I hate to have to watch my money for something like this, but that's the way it is. Anyone have any ideas on what I can make, buy, send, etc that is around or below $20-ish? Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Why am I unable to...?

Just out of random silly curiosity...anyone have any ideas as to why I wouldn't be able to wink(with either eye), whistle or give the Vulcan salute(with right hand only-and I'm right handed)? For some people all this comes so easily. I'm 26 and have been practicing all for as long as I can remember but still unable to do. Weird.

Dang at least I can snap my fingers...kind of.

  • Can you help with Maternity Leave Questions?

I have done a lot of research regarding US Maternity Leave Laws and found a lot of helpful information about FMLA and the sort...but all of these laws apply to companies who has a total of 50 employees or more. My problem is that the company I work for is small, very small. Total of 7 employees. I cannot find any information for the laws of Illinois regarding maternity leave for small businesses. I have looked in my 'employee handbook', but it just states that after one year of employment someone would be eligible, but that's about all it says. I have not done the common sense thing of speaking to my HR because I don't want anyone assuming I'm pregnant and start harrassing me about it ...i just want facts to be able to prepare myself for the near future. Can anyone help? Please be as specific as possible and provide all the links you can! Thank you soo much in advance!!! :-)

  • Any ideas to help with major neck pain?

For about a week and a half now, my hubby has been having terrible neck pain. He is to the point where he can't even turn his head left or right without it killing him. He's tried ice, motrin, heat, sleeping with less pillows, sleeping with more pillows. And I have tried massaging it a bunch... I told him maybe he should try sleeping on the hard floor with no pillows, and he will try that soon. Poor guy. :( We would have loved for him to have gone to a chiropractor already, but there is no way we could afford it. He doesn't have a regular doctor either.

Do you have any ideas, tricks, tips, ANYTHING that can help my poor hubby??

Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Credit Question?

For building excellent credit, is it better to have:

1.) No credit cards, not even department store cards

2.) No major credit cards, but a few department store cards(no balance)

3.) 1 major credit card, and less than 5 department store cards(all of which have no balance)

I have #3.. 4 department store cards, one Target Visa CC and of course my Banks Debit Card. All my cards have a $0 balance, I always pay them off immediately, but never close them in case I want to use them later...is this a bad idea for building credit?

I hope this all makes sense...Thanks for the help in advance!

    Hello!

I was just curious to see how many people actually took the Salmonella advisories seriously. What is your opinion on it? Did you change your diet? Did you stop buying or are still not buying tomatoes and now peppers?

Oh by the way..the FDA says it's safe to eat tomatoes again... lol....
