As my question indicated, I'm looking for a relatively simple method of measuring the tensile strength of some strings. In fact, these strings might be quite thin in cross-sectional diameter, i.e. like hair. I mean, it seems like common sense to walk. But how do we do it? How can we suddenly get such good balance on two feet? And why are there so many different ways of walking? What's the best way to walk (e.g. coolest, most professional, most efficient)? How do you walk?

Let's say that I have to defend myself and all I have is a normal-sized sharp knife. How could I maximize my combat efficiency? What would I do if I snuck up behind an intruder in my house? What are good ways to wield a knife?

Keep in mind that I don't want to do anything illegal with this information. I just want to make myself feel safer with more defensive combat knowledge. Or should I just stay back and not get involved when I'm being attacked?

Let's say you receive a general anesthesia, and you don't wake up after a surgery. It's all the anesthesiologist's fault because maybe he/she gave you too much of the substance to breathe in. This is one of the biggest fears of people who undergo a surgery: not waking up. Would you trust an anesthesiologist, particularly if you don't know his/her success rate? Many of us do because we're just afraid of the pain of surgery and trust that these people are professionals, but have we considered this closely enough?

If you were on a plane and suddenly people stand up at the same time, kill the hidden flight marshal, and say that you're being hijacked, would you fight back? What if they had guns? Would you take the marshal's gun and fight back Rambo-style? Would you somehow rally the other passengers to fight back? Would you just follow the hijackers' instructions even considering that they might crash the plane into something? What would you do in this dreary situation? Do you have combat or pilot training? I don't mean to offend anybody with this hypothetical question.

Let's say that you're in an office or something like that with lots of other people, and armed people come in with guns and say that you all get on the floor. Basically, you're hostage. But lucky you, you have a sharp concealed knife with you (from a Swiss army knife, for instance). Would you risk the lives of others by trying to kill the hostages and saving everybody? Or would you only try to make a run for it and save yourself? Or would you just lay low while the hostage-takers threaten to kill you all if police barge in? Would you wait for the police, or take the law in your own hands? Do you have sufficient combat training? What would you do if the hostage-takers say they will kill one hostage every thirty minutes if your government does not comply with their demands?

It's a horrible decision and situation, but it's unfortunately one that's faced by countless people.

Or would you be nice to it and claim that you don't want to upset the balance of nature? Or would you run away? Where would you run? If you were going to try and kill it, how would you do it? Would you have prepared spears, etc., with the knife beforehand? What would you do?

You know, I'm talking about people like Don Corleone in "The Godfather." Why did they wear suits and ties if they're going around killing people? Are they any more civilized than modern urban gangs like Blood and Cripples? Or are they all the same? Why did the former wear such "sophisticated" clothing then? Was the mafia a comparatively honorable organization?

In my opinion, all gangs are bad. However, the line between a gang and a legitimate albeit independent organization often becomes blurred. Anyone who's seen "Sarkar" knows what I'm talking about. Sometimes, people in these illegal groups have good, altruistic causes but often run some rackets on the side to get money to fund their projects. Is it confusing? Would you ever deal with something like the mafia if you thought it had a good cause (e.g. brought power to the people)? Would you be a don/bhai if you had a chance?

I think I'm alluding to many of those death row gangs that ordered the hits of various people. Anyway, would you do this? I mean, you've already gotten the maximum punishment, haven't you? Or have you? Will another murder augment your aggregate sin in Heaven? What are the ethics relating to this? Let's assume that you were guilty of doing whatever you did to get on death row in the first place.
