  • Ok I am a little bothered..There seems to be this shift..Parents are really shifting toward homeschooling but?

Alot (not all) have this really unrealistic way they are going about it. Alot of the ways they allow thier children to behave goes completly against the polite rules of society (backtalking, cursing, no homework....and so on)...Again I am not talking about all homeschooled parents or children...I can see very valid reasons why some parents who need to homeschool thier children, and I can see how much work and disipline goes into that comitment...but there are those other parents....Isn't there some sort of training, or certificate that you must have in order to educate your children the way you want...wheather its right or wrong?

  • Casey Anthony? Anyone watch Nancy Grace tonight?

Ok so I have been following this story and something that was said tonight on the air during the interview with the guy who is organizing the search....He was asked what the mood of Casey was...he said she was spending alot of time in her room on the computer.....then they broke off to commercial but said when they came back they would reveal a bombshell regarding Casey and the internet....What was it I missed it? And have the officials been checking her internet use....If she is using the internet to communicate and research would that not mabee give some new clues?

  • Looking for more websites?

I would like to know what websites you use for teaching, activites for your daycare or your own children. I would prefer free sites, but if you have a site that is fairly reasonable..then I would like to know about that one too...

I have used DLTK, and crayola....But I am always looking for teaching posters, board borders, and printable activites for ages 1-9.

  • As a parent how do you feel about this? Do you have another suggestion?

I have a home daycare ...I have always had mostly girls in my daycare but lately the shift has changes from female to male...Anyway...I have always delt with separation of mom and child the same. And even addressed it in my policy....Make sure to make your good bye brief, one last kiss then leave....The longer you stay and drag it out the longer it takes for your child to recover.....I usually distract and the kids are fine before the parents are at thier car...BUT The last couple of weeks I have had to literally pull two boys from thier parents arms...The two boys are a little spoiled and use the tears to get thier way, If they are fine it almost is as if thier mom wants them to be throwing a fit when they leave...she will stick around and do kiss, and hug and drag it on till they are crying.....I am sick of being the bad guy and have actually had to tell Mom ok one more kiss and you have to go...

I want to stress here that the kids are very well behaved other than the drop off, I have a time chart for both boys and they understand when everyone is coming to pick them up. But then mom starting telling them that dad was going to take off early to pick them up...Now I have to break thier hearts more than once a day by reminding them of thier charts and telling them that they are not leaving early....

I am just really trying to get some new ideas, or hear what your providers do?

The little boys are both 4? Different parents....And I have never had this type of problem with other kids or parents for more than a week.

  • Ok what do you think?

Last night my husband and my self were at his adult softball game...Alot of people bring thier kids, anyway another one of the men brought his two children ( ages 7, and 10??) anyway this happened to be a night they had a double header. During the second game this guys kids were arguing so bad that he wasnt going to go back onto the field....I told him I would sit with them and keep them from fighting. While this guy was on the field the little boy (7) was trying to antagonize his sis (10?) anyway this sis was a real smarta** she told me that her mom was gonna kick my a**. But when dad came in off the field I told him what the kid said...he told her that they would discuss this later....I have really been bothered by the attitude of this teenage girl the air leaking out of her head noises and smart mouth have just gotten to me....BTW the guys play another double header next week so its not like I wont have to deal with these kids again...

  • I babysit my niece who is 3 1/2, her mother does not disipline her at all.?

The child screeches and hits, throws tantrums...and has no clue on what a real mealtime is...her mom even brings her to my house with a baby bottle of mt dew. At my house for the most part she is a good kid...no bottle, normal mealtimes at the table ect.. The other day when they were both here...my niece actually hit her mother...her mother was on the phone(she usually is)...and didn't say a word to her child.....I told her to get off the damn phone and pay attention to her child....she said she didnt know her daughter did anything wrong. So I sent her child to time out for hitting her mother....for 3 min.. After her timeout was over I talked to my niece. Should i continue this...or should i let her mom contiue to turn her daughter into a twit?

  • TV In Daycare? TV For Toddlers?

Ok so I have read and answered a couple of questions today regarding TV in Daycare. This is my thing....Me and My daycare kids Watch the "Wiggles" everyday!!!!!! It is right after breakfast and i see it as exercise!!! We Dance, We Sing...and we use the song and dance all day during other activities......There is usually a corney lesson too!! So My question is what is up with these parents who feel because a TV is involved that thier kids are not being taken care of or loved???? I really am tired of the condesending tone these parents have towards thier daycare provider......Most of us are here because we have made the sacrifice to be home with our own kids.....and really they money these parents pay isn't much....not compared to what thier kids get from us. What are your thoughts?
