Bag Or Basket? What Do You Think?
My older sis is going away to college and she's trying to decide whether to get a laundry bag or basket. She keeps asking me and I have no idea, so...Basically, she would get a pop-up basket for sure, but the thing is that they have to go to the laundromat to get their laundry done but it would be hard to drag around a basket and she's nervous about having to take a basket out in public so she's thinking a bag. But she thinks the bags are ugly and would be harder to use and also weird to take outside, even if they're closed (why she cares if her laundry bag is pretty, don't even ask-shrug). So, what do you think-weird question, I know, but bag or basket? What did you take and if you haven't yet experienced dorm life, what would you take?
Also, if anybody has some hints on doing laundry. Since each load costs, what are the different loads, what goes in which load, and can any be put together? Which must be done separately at all costs?
As a bonus (drum roll), any other tips or guidelines about what to take to the dorm? Convenient/necessary things that you probably wouldn't think of. Each room has a fridge, toaster, microwave, and water heater already, so she doesn't need to worry about that stuff.
Thank You For All The Awesome Answers I Know I'm Going To Get And I Better Hope She Doesn't See This :)
Packing & Preparation9 years agoCan anybody give me some tips on writing from this pov?
I'm beginning a new novel, and am having a little bit of trouble. I have my plot, setting, and characters completely figured out and want to start writing. I like to write in first person and have each chapter written from a different character's pov. I have never had any trouble writing from the pov of somebody that I've never been like, and this is my sixth novel, but for some reason, I am now. One of my main characters is a sixteen-year-old girl with a serious case of depression and suicidal thoughts. Every time I try to write from her perspective, it comes out wrong.
If anybody could give me some tips to help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Also, if anybody has ever read any books written from a similar pov (even from third person as long as it's centered around that character's thoughts and actions), that would also be really helpful. Thank you so much :)
3 AnswersBooks & Authors9 years agoI'm shadowing a child in camp next week. Can anyone give me some tips?
I'm volunteering as a shadow in my uncle's camp for next week and maybe part of the week after, and I was wondering if anybody can give me some advice. I don't actually know anything about the kid yet except that he's a boy and he is in the youngest bunk so he's probably around four or five. I love little kids and generally I'm very good with them-I've been a counselor before. So it's not that I'm scared, it's just that I've never shadowed a child before, so I don't really know what it requires. I'm supposed to get information about him either later tonight or tomorrow morning, so when I do I'll post it, but meanwhile, does anybody have general advice or personal experience. It doesn't really matter what type of kid you had to deal with-just share whatever you can, because I really don't know yet what types of things I am going to have to deal with. Anything could be helpful. I'll post more when I find out. Thanks!
4 AnswersSpecial Education9 years agoDoes anybody know what's going on with my eyes?
This is weird. Just randomly, my vision will suddenly go blank, or sometimes just dark around the edges and blurry in the middle. When this happens, I get dizzy and can't walk. Sometimes I can't even stand. My head hurts also-it's hard to say exactly where, but it's mostly over my nose. It started about two years ago but it only happened occasionally, and just when I stood up too quickly. I asked the doctor about it and she said that it was probably no big deal and I should just try to get up more slowly and less suddenly. I did that, but less, so I figured it was nothing. A few months ago, though, it started happening much more frequently-almost every day-and it happens when I go from a lying down position to a sitting position or just randomly even when I've been sitting or walking for a while (it never happens while I'm lying down). It can last for anywhere between five-thirty seconds, but usually last for about ten-fifteen. I plan to ask a doctor next time I go for a physical, but meanwhile I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced something like this, and if anybody knows what it could be. It's really freaking me out. Thanks.
3 AnswersOptical9 years agoAm I healthy or underweight?
I am seventeen years old, 5'7 and weigh 105 lbs. My mother says that I'm underweight and need to gain weight, and I once overheard a family friend ask my mom if I'm anorexic! My friends just tell me I'm really lucky to be so skinny. I checked my bmi, though, and I was around 16, which it said was healthy.
I'm on a soccer team and walk almost everywhere (within a reasonable distance). I also go jogging a few times a week and work out at home. (I know it sounds crazy, but I actually enjoy exercising). I'm pretty sure that that's a good thing.
I'm not sure if I eat healthy. I don't have a big appetite, and people say I eat like a bird (now that's exaggerating). I skip breakfast a lot-I know it's the most important meal of the day and all that, but I get nauseous when I eat early in the morning. I do have a snack later in the morning. I eat lunch and I usually eat supper, and I think I take reasonable portions.
Do I need to change something I do? Am I not being healthy? I feel good and I think I look good too, but if it isn't healthy, I'd rather look healthy than skinny.
31 AnswersDiet & Fitness9 years agoWhich actress do you like better?
Selena Gomez or Hilary Duff. Decide according to their acting abilities, singing talent, physical appearance, and overall personality. (you can also do style, but I'm not)
Here's what I think:
Acting abilities: I think they're both amazing. In my opinion Hilary Duff is better at drama and Selena Gomez is better at comedy, but they're both amazing. So here it's a tie. Here's a list of the major work each have done (that I know of)-keep in mind that Selena is still working.
SG:

Spy Kids 3-D

(she also appeared in various other disney channel sitcoms such as "Sonny with a Chance" and "Hannah Montana")
Hilary Duff:

Gossip Girl
Those are just what I know so there may be more-If there are, feel free to let me know so I can check them out.
Singing Talent:
I think they're both great, but I have no idea how much of either one's voice is edited for singing. I personally love them both, but Hilary Duff sounds more natural and overall, I think I like her better in this category.
Here's a list of songs they've done that I know of.

(I got this list online so I'm pretty sure that's it)
Physical Appearance:
Okay, so here, I had a real dilemma. They're both natural beauties with and without makeup. I think Hilary USUALLY looks better in pictures, and Selena USUALLY looks better in real life and movies, but, personally, I think I have to say Selena's prettier. Nobody should take offense at this, because they are both completely different, but, if I could look like one or the other, I think I would choose Selena.
Overall Personality:
This was also really hard. They're both amazingly sweet and human, despite being famous and successful. I love them both, but I think I'm going to go with Selena Gomez because she has a really great sense of humor, she's light and easygoing, and very personable.
So here we tally it all up.
Acting: tie-really I'm not sure; it might change sometime, because I've only watched a few movies with Selena Gomez and a bunch with Hilary Duff, and it's so hard to judge because their styles are so different, but...
Singing Talent: Hilary Duff
Physical Appearance: Selena Gomez
Overall Personality: Really close, but Selena Gomez.
Soooo, for me it was really, really close, but, for now, my favorite is Selena Gomez. Now tell me what you think. Factor in whatever you want and feel free to tell me if I missed something. But please realize that this is just my personal opinion and it was really close, so don't criticize me or anyone else who answers. Thanks ya'll, and I'm sorry this was so long.
