Olive oil and skin sensitivity?
I am definitely intolerant to olive oil, which causes my skin to go sensitive. I have also noticed the same thing with the olive fruit itself. I am in general, allergic to some foodstuff. However, I feel that I am not sensitive to the oil itself, which should have many beneficial effects for the health, but to the proteins present in it. Has anyone experienced a similar sensitivity, and any idea as to how the allergy/intolerance can be coped with. I don't want to eliminate olive oil from my diet, but I simply want to come to good terms with it.
1 AnswerSkin Conditions8 years agoHistamine intolerant. What to do?
I think I have an allergy to histamine, or I an histamine intolerant. Various types of foodstuff triggers my skin rashes. These include wine, beer, some fruits, bread, canned food, onion, ginseng, and some medicine. Low histamine diets are very difficult to follow, as most foodstuff, specially in modern life, are full of histamine. Anti-histamine medicament such as Cetirizin works very well to suppress these rashes. Do I have to use them lifelong?
Skin Conditions9 years agoIrregular heart beat?
My heart pounds for a few seconds, when I sit suddenly or bend over to pick something. I feel that the pulse falls drastically for a few seconds when I bend over, and returns to normal, as soon as I return to my normal position. I don't feel any pain, nor light headedness. I don't have any particular heart problem, despite severe investigations. I am male and 63. I am a non-smoker. Any ideas?
4 AnswersHeart Diseases9 years agoZolpidem/Alprazolam conflict?
In the past few days I have been using some Alprazolam to overcome certain family stress. It has been effective in controlling my anxiety and, combined with Propranolol, in preventing excessive heart rate (my age is 62). Now, because my sleep regularity has been totally upset, I intend to use 5 mg of Zolpidem (Stilnox) at bedtime. Would there be any serious conflict? Thanks for assistance. Blessings for all those lonely souls subjected to extreme conditions, who are doomed to manage their balance in a silent way.
2 AnswersMental Health10 years agoHow can I forgive my wife?
A difficult question. My wife has had a lot of flirtations in the internet and some over the telephone. But, I am perfectly sure that she has not let anybody touch her physically. Since I have discovered it accidentally, I am in a state of moral collapse. She also seems honestly sorry, and her mood seems seriously critical and both of us are suffering in an unimaginable way. In muslim communities, it is very difficult to be indifferent in such a situation. It has shaken my faith and paralyzed her and my moods. We are suffering in an endless way. But, since we loved each other, and I have a strong attachment to her, I wish to forgive her, but however I try, I cannot. Can anyone show me a way as to how I can forgive her and give ourselves a new chance?
7 AnswersMarriage & Divorce10 years agoWhy do I feel so much tired?
I am 60, male, and generally healthy. I also carry out exercises regularly in a way suitable to my age. Recently I feel fatigue in my legs, specially due to standing in a fixed position, and need to sit down for a while to regain some energy. I do not feel much fatigue when I am running for half an hour at moderate speed. The worst thing for me is walking lazily with my wife during shopping or sightseeing. My blood pressure is traditionally low (around 100/65), and I suspect that, maybe, there is poor circulation in my legs. Can this kind of fatigue be a signal for a serious thing?
2 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoBlood pressure too low?
My blood pressure has been traditionally low. I am 60, male, and my BP is still around 90/55, which has not changed appreciably for decades. Now without any professional diagnosis, I think that this may cause poor blood supply to all my cells, and may be the cause of a slight pounding in my chest when I bend to pick up something.
Is it advisable, and are there any safe methods to increase the BP slightly for monitoring the results?
2 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoslight pain in the left leg?
I have a slight pain in the left leg, which is aggravated during sleep, and usually begins to fade out after waking up and moving. I have no difficulty during walking and even running, which is my favourite exercise I perfrorm every other day. There is no darkening on the muscles, and the sensation is normal. Is it likely that I have some inflammation in the leg joint? How should I care for it?
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoI feel a slight arythmia at sudden changes of position?
I recently feel a heart beat for a short while, whenever I bend down to pick up something, or I sit down quickly. It lasts only for a couple of seconds. I am 60, and underwent coronary angiography a year ago, which indicated normal, except for a "mild LAD lesion". The doctors withdrew nitroglycerine and placed me on Metoral at 25 mg a day. I usually run for half an hour at a mild speed (considering my age), and feel no pain so long as I am running at mild speed. At faster speeds I may feel some pain, which disappears in the course of running and without having to interrupt, just by slowing down. Am I likely to have a condition?

What is left of the ancient Egyptian traditions in the lifestyle of modern Egypt? Are there any traditions that we can clearly distinguish as remnants of the ancient culture? Is there anything in music, religious traditions, architecture, etc., bearing any traces of the ancient culture?
3 AnswersHistory1 decade agoclotting inside the mouth?
I sometimes notice something like the clotting of blood behind my lower lip. It forms very quickly, and grows to something from 2 to 6 mm in diameter. Then it gradually disappears in a few hours or the other day. Is it a serious sign of some coagulation problem, and is it likely to lead to a critical situation. How is the situation to be handled when it occurs?
3 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoHow to Prevent and Treat Lipomas?
I am a 24 years old male, and I usually develop lipomas all over my body in different sizes. I removed some of them by surgical operation, but they keep returning. I am a diabetic, and am regularly injecting insulin.
Is there any relationship between liopoma and insulin? Is there a way I can prevent lipomas from recurring? Is it advisable to self-remove the tumor?
2 AnswersSkin Conditions1 decade agoWhat precautions should be taken by a person suspected for Angina Pectoris?
After a maximal exercise test, and due to mild chest pain, I am suspected for Angina Pectoris, apparently difficulty in oxygen supply to the heart due to partial blockage of one or more of the arterial paths. I will be apparently proceeding to angiographical test, but I am using medications such as metoprolol, nitroglycerin tablets, and aspirin in light dose.
What are the most serious precautions that I may take in order to avoid a probable anginal attack? Professional advice appreciated.
3 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoThe origin of numeric symbols?
It is a common belief that numeric symbols of 1,2,...,9 were originated in India, and transferred to Europe through muslims. I am not convinced, as there is not enough evidence for their origination fron India. Thus, they may have originated in Mesopotamia. The curious thing is that, if they have been transferred to Europe through muslims, why are the numerals written from left to right in Arabic? This is contrary to the default direction of Arabic script. So, it is even possible that the muslims copied them from the Europeans. Any idea?
3 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoAlzheimer patient going into full coma, professional help please?
My aged father (90) has been suffering from Alzheimer’s disease for some years. He has had gradual deterioration of memory, and loss of judgement. Recently he has also been showing some signs of hallucinations. In the recent days he has proceeded into an almost complete state of coma. His eyes may be open, but he is not looking.
He has been using Aricept, Propronolol, Citalopram, Calcitriol and other medications.
Recently, he had a serious infection, due to which his left ear area was badly swollen, and his behaviour was obviously indicating that his brain was being effected by the disease. This infectious state was successfully treated using Ceftriaxone and serum therapy, and he almost returned to his previous state. But, we suspect that the infectious disease effected his brain in some way.
We are also suspecting that he may have undergone some trivial brain infarct.
His life functions indicators (heart pulse rate, respiration, temperature, blood pressure etc.) are almost normal. He is able to move almost all movable body organs. Blinking function, swallowing etc. are intact.
The doctor has instructed discontinuation of Aricept, and has additionally administered Nootropil(Piracetam) and Osvix (Clopidogrel), but he is advancing into full unconsciousness.
Will appreciate your professional advice as to the real state of affairs, and how it my be encountered.

I have slight chest pain, which I suspect, but am not sure whether it relates to some heart disease. Can I tentatively take a nitroglycerin sublingual dose to check whether it subdues the pain? I am 60, so far with no medically proven heart disease.
