Lab Runner

So two summers ago my dog had some real issues with her ears and I dumped about $3,000 in meds and visits, come to find out the steroids, antifugle and ear cleanser where all neutralizing them self's and I was simply putting more gunk in my dogs ear for the yeast and infection to grow. Just today I called my vet as my dog appears to have Limber Tail and when I asked my vet they said they have never heard of this. So I get on the phone with a Friend of the family who owns a Gun Dog Kennel and say it is very common in Labs from swimming, over excursion or even just being out in the cold. Well my lab loves to swim and retrieve (like a good dog) and I work her like shes a work dog and after a day of being in the water doing retrieves her tail appears limp. So friend of family comes over looks at my pup who is eating drink urinating and have bowel movements just fine says that defiantly what it is. So my question is are Vet's being pushed out of school to early or did I just happen to get a bad one. Now mind you I have gone to this vet my entire life problem is you don't see the guy who owns the place any more you see these people who are there for a few months at a time and then are gone. So I called the vet that my family friend takes his 20 dogs and she said she would be more than happy to get my dogs medical work and that she wouldn't be worried about her tail unless is swells or it doest get better in 2-3 days, you know what the other vet said bring her in and make sure you have $200 for ex-rays and $105 for an exam. So again is it that I just got a bad vet or is anyone else dealing with vets who seem to be more and more incompetent. Sorry for the rant and again any one else dealing with similar issues.

I need every ones thoughts here. I have owned many breeds of dogs in my life (5 not including the mutts) and now my Lab. I currently have a 3 Year old black female and she is great. Very well trained (by myself and my fiancée) loves other dogs loves other people she is what labs where bread to do including getting birds for me. She is the high energy breed that fits our life she always ready to go swimming for a run or just hang out on the couch. She gets to be around other dogs anywhere from 3-4 times a week and is great with other dogs, people as well days that she’s not at the house with our cat she is at work with my fiancée at a nursing home trying to bring smiles to the sick and elderly. All around great dog and the reason I have fallen head over heals for this breed. My fiancée and my self feel it is time for us to bring in another companion in to our young family. We feel this is the perfect time as we want two dogs in our family but are waiting a few years to have kids. So our thoughts are with our Female being extremely well trained it is time to get our second and get him trained before the children come along as we feel children are going to be difficult enough on there own as we know we where. So I just want to hear everyone’s thoughts on our plan, Keep in mind I have plenty of room for the dogs to run and be well dogs. I already know the vet bills as my Lilly girl cost me over 3K last year as well as food she is currently eating Innova, we have already set a budget for weekly food as well as vet bills and since my last run in with allergies (hence the Innova) we have opened a credit card just for the dog(s). Let me know your thoughts and experience with two labs or two dogs in general.

Does any one have any experience Deli Fresh, is it good for my pup ? And am I going to go broke feeding this to my 70lbs Lab ? She is currently on Innova Kibble and Innova Evo Canned Wet mixed in her kibble and is doing very well much better than any of the other 5-6 things I have tried to feed her. But I saw the Deli Fresh at the feed store I get the Innova from and started reading the pamphlet of information they had on it and it seems like it would be very healthy.

I personal take my dog for an hour walk on tuesdays thursdays and sundays, on monday, wednesday, friday and saturday we are in the back yard (1 acre open field) playing fetch for no lie hours on end with a tennis ball and a racket due to it being winter and having almost a foot of snow my options are limited unlike in the summer where we throw in swimming and roller blading and frequent trips to the park, I exercise her because this is the best way for her to behave during the day and helps to keep her attention on me when giving her commands shes a 2 year old lab and has a ton of energy that needs to be burned off and with her being a lab this is the best way for me to keep her from becoming over weight. I want to hear from all of you what you do to exercise your dog and why it is so important that you do. Also looking for other inventive ideas for my self to try out as new things are always good to help stimulate your dog because not only is physical exercise good but they need that mental work out too, let me know.

My cousin lives in Alfred NY, where the cow population is more than people, any way he has a lab and his girlfriends brother also has a lab he wants to breed his lab with his girlfriends brothers lab, then what he is planning on doing is keeping one of the pup's and then giving the rest away to a good family or home, what are your feelings keep in mind he isn't trying to make any money, I told him to go for it and that I want one of the pups as I have a black lab and want two dogs so just wondering what your feelings on this are ?

Should I start McFadden who played the bills last we and I live in buffalo I can tell you right now that man could not cut on his right foot to save his life last week, every time he tried his foot slipped out from under him, Thomas Jones with a little more sore than usually Bret Farve throwing the ball, McFadden has big play potential if he plays against the SD D who is missing one key player on the D-Line, Jones is playing Arizona who has a decent secondary so again more run, Im thinking Jones but want to hear what any one else has to say, LT is my other starter and I have Rudi Johnson on the bench (who had big numbers last week in DET) as DET is on a Bye.

Merriman less Charges D is looking pretty good to put thomas jones in against on Monday night, considering LT is having toe issues and we all know how long that can take and I dont know if any one has really noticed but the Jets got a run D this year

I have gone through the trial and error of dog food with my pup as she has sensitive skin, started with pro plan, then purina one, then Solid Gold which was a very good food and was great for her energy and growth but we have Finlay settled on Innova and her skin and coat issues gone, pro plan and purina one where not very good to my dog she was biting her paws and her coats wasn't shinny and she had allot of dander, but since going to solid gold then to innova she has turned around completely and I thought she had energy before ha now shes non stop which is perfect for me as Im non stop. just wondering what every one else food of choice for the dogs where ?

I just want to know how many of you are members ? Or even the humane society ?

So if you own a dog chances are you have made the mistake and bought the cheap stuff from the pet store just to go camping and find a flea or tick let alone just being outside with misqitos, what does everyone think about the two big names in Flea meds ?

I always though that around a year was when the switch from Puppy food to Adult food was to happen and now I was reading on-line (dont belive everything you read) that with my pup being a Lab I should wait untll she is 16-24 months old to switch Im thinking that isnt really a good idea as I dont intend on her needing that high of a calorie diet, shes on Solid gold now and at 11 and a half months old was going to start the switch this week to Innova or Innova Evo havent decied yet was going to try both and see which she did better on, also she gets salmon and a little olive oil on friday saturday and sunday. Just wondering what everyones thoughts are, my vet told me between 11-13 months would be good

So I’ve been on here with the dog food question a million times and learned the hard way Purina Pro Plan as my pup had some allergic relations (paw chewing and licking as well as bad dander) so I switched her tp solid gold wolf cub and she seem to get about 100 times better but still has a little dander, any way my father swears by Innova as his german shep, had the same problem but switched him to Innova and now he has no dander and his coat is beautiful and so so soft even along the ridge of his back, but I have a black lab and was wonder what your thought where on the difference between Innova and Innova Evo I was looking at getting her on Evo red meat formula, also she's coming up to that age to get her off puppy chow (13 months) and have to switch her food any way and thinking about leaving the solid gold family to go to the Innova family, dont get me wrong solid gold was great food and treated my pup very well she grew big and strong 70 lbs and shes way taller than the standard

Alright so im addicted to First Person Shooters but I was looking to see if any one had any suggestions on a new game that is geared to single player play and not x-box live multiplayer, I just ran through COD 4 in about 6 hours and thought it was an awsome game just not long enough in single player, any suggestions ?

So I have a 360 and all the games I have are First Person Shooters, the system came with altimate alliance so one day I decied to give it a shot well my girl picked up my other controller and was more in to it than I was, which was great and made both of us happy, well we have since ran through the game and I was wondering if any one knew of any good games similar to the play style of altimate alliance or just any game in general that might be good for my girl and I to play together, also Call of duty 4 a good buy ? Keep in mind I love first person shooters that are military based, thank you in advance sorry about the spelling.

Okay so im done with raw hides after reading some pretty bad stories, so I have heard about bully sticks but cant seem to find any where to buy them just wondering what all natural chews people are giving there dogs and where to buy them ?
