This isn't for a baby, it's for a dog. The name is still important to me though. We might be getting a golden retriver puppy in about a month or so. We already have one dog named Maxina but we just call her Max.

  • WDYT of the name Evelyn?

I'm not pregnant or anything, I just like names.

What do you think of the name Evelyn? Are there any other similar names you prefer (i.e. Eva, Eve). I really like the NN Evie (ee-vee) for it. My great grandma's name was Ethelyn but I don't really like that. I see Evelyn as being close enough to honor her. What are some possible MN ideas?

    Thanks :)

  • WDYT of these German Girl's Names?

I'd love to honor my grandma and grandpa's heritage. My mom is only 75% german and I'm really only about 35% so it's not that big of a deal, but my Grandma was the only one of my grandparents that I was close to. All the others died before I was born. I don't want to use my grandma's name, Margaret because it's my name too. It's also my other grandma's, two of my aunts, and two of my cousins names.

Please either rate or comment about the names below.

Some of my favorite German girls names are:

    Alexis

    Alisa

Ava (one of my top favorites)

    Eloise

    Isabella

Maddelen (I prefer it spelled Madeleine)

Mara (My nickname and what my mom wanted to name me)

    Maria (Family name, like it)

    Rachel (My sister's name)

Charlotte (Pronounced in german shar-LOT-tuh, but I prefer the american pronunciation)

    Gabriele

    Hanna

Julia (Pronounced Yuh-lee-uh, but I like the american pronunciation)

Sofia (Family name that I actually like)

    Sara

Monika (I like it spelled Monica, after my aunt and my best friend since 10 mos.)

Delia (Family name but I like it)

    Brynn

    Emaline

    Emilie

Emilia/ Amelia (Both are family names but I like them)

    Magdalene (Family name)

    Roberta (My mom's name)

    Ethelyn (Family Name)

    Cheryl (Family name)

All of the family names noted above are not names I'm a big fan of unless noted.

Feel free to suggest, make name combos, add middle names, or whatever. Thank you :)

  • WDYT of Mackenzie for a boy?

I'm not pregnant or anything nor will I be for more than a few years.

But what do you think of Mackenzie for a boy? I really like it. It was originally a boy's name before it became popular for girls. I only know one boy named Mackenzie and he goes by Mack and doesn't get made fun of at all. What are your thoughts on the name?

BQ: WDYT of Finley? I kind of like it. Probably Finn would be the nickname.

  • How do I improve my relationship with my father?

I'm only 13 and I have a pretty bad relationship with my dad. My parents are still married and everything, but he used to be an alcoholic. He's been sober for two years this December. Ever since then, I've been able to talk to him a little bit, but really not that much. I can't even bring myself to hug him. I used to be really close to him, but I don't know what happened. He took and early retirement and my mom went back to work almost four years ago. Both my parents are in classes and my dad is looking for a job. How can I get closer to him? My little sister who's 10 isn't as close to him either.

  • What do you think of family names?

In my family, it doesn't matter if we already have a 'Joe' or a 'Mary', the more the merrier! Anyway, what do you think of these family names I found on my family tree:

    Margaret

    Francis/ Frances

    Mary

    Julia

    George

    Gabriel/ Gabrielle

    Lawrence

    Isabelle/ Isabel/ Isobel

    Carin/ Karan

    Ronna- Girl I think?

    Janet/ Janette

    Carol

    Edith

    Ada

    Ryne- Boy

    Leigh

    Wade

    Emilia/ Amelia

    Delia

    Irene

    Hallie/ Haley

    Ivah- Girl

Almost all these names were used many more times than once. My name is Margaret and I found probably 20+ people with the first or middle name of Margaret. Actually found a 'Naomi Watts' on the family tree. Probably not 'the' Naomi Watts, but it's a funny coincidence either way!

  • What are some good names for chickens?

Hey, just call me crazy, but I raise chickens and name very single on of them! So please if you're going to suggest Egbert, Chuck, or henrietta, I don't need to hear it! We need around 10-15 names depending on how many laying hens we get next spring! Names we've used in the past include (but not all): Luna, Alice, Grace, Iris, Irene, Isabella, Aubree, Addison, Ava Leigh, Skye, Lillian, Delilah, Nadia, Cora, Lulu, Apryl and about a billion more.

Here's some that I'm looking at for this year. We only get girls so we need girls names! Any middle names?

    Arina

    Sedona

    Eily

Rilan- (Like Righ-lyn) We want a different spelling for this one!

    Korinne

    Sloane

    Maisie

    Laine

    Aurora

    Peyton

Feel free to suggest some more!

  • What are some names for chickens?

Okay, so I raise chickens and I like to name every single one, except for the meat birds which all look the same. That means that I need around 15 lovely names and middle names for them. Hey call me crazy if you want! We get all hens, so we need girl's names. Some from this past year include: Phoebe Emmaline, Cora Jane, Norah Drew, Nadia Sienna, Lucy Nicole, Gianna Carson, and Jenna Grace.

My ideas for this year are:

    Sedona

    Aurora

    Corrine

    Piper

    Peyton

    Charlotte

    Halow

    Riley

    Sloane

    Eily

    Maisie

    Laine

Feel free to critique and suggest as desired!

  • What are some good name ideas?

I need names for two reasons. 1. I'm a writer so I need some great character names and 2. I raise chickens and I name all of them. I'm a little stuck for next year's chicks! Just give me a list of your favorite names! Anything is acceptable, but mainly girls names please (but a few boys are okay!)
