My Great Danes has mastitis again. She has a litter of puppies that are 5 weeks old. When they were a week old she got mastitis. I took her to the vet he put her on antibiotics and we thought that it was all cleared up. Well now the pups are 5 weeks old and she has it again. This time it is really bad and it came on really fast. She was fine on Wednesday and on thursday she was acting a little quiet so I took her temp. It was just a little high so I called the vet and he told me just to watch her and see how it goes. I should say by a little high it was fractions over normal I think it was 102.3 and normal is between 101 and 102. Well Friday morning we got up and her temp had sky rocketed to 105.4. I rushed her to the vet and he gave her a shot of antibiotics and pain killers then sent me home with more antibiotics. She is so sick acting and I guess my question is what am I doing wrong? I asked my vet this and he said that sometime this just happens and there is no way to prevent it. Needless to say she is getting spayed because I will not put her through this again. Has anyone had problem's with this? What am I doing wrong? I thought I was doing everything the way I should but maybe not.

I have a litter of nine great dane puppies. I have started them on food that I wet down with water. This is my 7th litter of pups so I have some idea of what I am doing but I have one puppy that throws up after he eats. He then eats what he throws up and is fine. I don't understand what it could be. I have researched liver shunts and things like that but he does not fit the description for that. He is not sick acting and plays and is very happy and active. Has anyone ever had this problem? He goes to the vet on Friday but the vet does not seem that worried about it. If you know what it could be please let me know. I have them on a large breed puppy food so I know its not to high in protein and that kind of stuff plus like I said I have never had this problem before. One thing that my vet did tell me is that it can not be a food allergy because pups this age do not get food allergies.

Virginia Tice Neary? I have this painting that was painted in 1981 it is still in excellent condition and is in the original frame from what I can tell. I do not know art but I would like to know if I have something good or just a painting. I am very fond of it either way and do not plan to get rid of it. If anyone could help me.

I have a litter of Great Dane puppies. I was wondering when i should start to feed them puppy food. They are three weeks old yesterday. I was going to start at the end of the week but should I start sooner?

I don't want to stress her but I don't want her to get full of energy either. I have shortened her walks. We use to walk about two miles and we are down to about one mile because I could tell she was getting tired. If anyone knows please tell me.
