Its just a question about games, and how they get put on.

Plus can you get any free games.

Can you download games of the internet to your computer.

Any info about games relating to the ipod, would be a great help so that i have a general idea of what to expect

Would i need any special equipment..etc

(ie. if i can watch it on my tv, what would i have to do to get it onto a DVD

Can it also be done if you have a computer....?

A friend of mine currently has IE 6 .....on Windows XP

And wants to update to IE 8.....

Just what is the best practice to do this.....as this is a friends computer i could do with the correct way of doing this to avoid any issues/problems

And then another version comes out, is it best to uninstall the older version you have.

At the moment on one of my laptops, i have it set to "notify me every 7 days" if there are any updates, and this has been fine ever since.

But installing newer versions over old ones, is this a good idea.

It may work in some instances, but is it good practice to uninstall any older versions first, if you don't have it set to automatic updates.

The anti virus updates wont download

java update won't download

They will try to, but then the internet connection drops.

Her other two laptops are fine its just the windows xp desktop.

This is on a wireless connection, connecting to one of those routers you get from post office home broadband.

As i say the internet is fine until you start downloading anything.

Any ideas or anything i could try.

I have since uninstalled avast 4.8 and was going to install avast 5.0 but something is stopping the downloads......even java as well

Is there a full list i can get on each of these programs......normally when i search it just says they removes spyware/adware.

Any help on this, or some good links that will tell me this.......

She is moving to post office broadband today.

But is currently on BT broadband.

So how will she know when the change has happened.

(ie. can you be on two ISPs for a certain time till one of them shuts down.

She has just turned the computer on now, but is still using BT broadband.

So rather than just waiting for the post office home broadband to be activated....is there a way to tell if your actually using it...

I was just wondering why HJT deletes certain files.

I was following a tutorial on HJT, where it says any executable file that resides in the startup directories will be deleted by HJT when you come to fix those lines.

Any information on how HJT does delete them, when you fix those lines, if they reside in the startup directories.

Any links or information on this would be great....

I have started to complile replies to web-site forums in notepad, then "paste" them into the web-site forums text editor, this also include's some "BBcode" like bold, list, etc.

They usually come out ok, but should i do this with "WORD WRAP" off or on.

And also should i complile the message with "word wrap" off or on.

Its just that i get confused sometimes, when they don't come out as they should, and i can't remember if word wrap should be on or off when compliling the message and also when you copy it and paste it into the web-site's forum text editor.

I use the forums alot, but never understood what the margin tag does

I am just gathering some information on HiJackthis.

On different versions of windows . 2000, XP,Vista,Win 7. etc are you supposed to run HijackThis.exe as an administrator on all versions of windows.

And what happens if you don't run as an administrator.

How can these tools normally help you when you are dealing with a hijackthis log.

Here are the tools buttons..

Generate StartupList log

Open Process Manager

Open Hosts File Manager

Delete a File on Reboot

Delete an NT Service

Open ADS Spy

Open Uninstall Manager

And then as and when start to do incremental or differential backups.

What i would like to know is how long do you keep the first full computer back-up , before creating another full computer backup.

EI.) i have just done a full computer backup (with acronis disk image software) so i would be doing 1 incremental backup after say, two days.and then every other two days.

Do you normally carry this on for one month , then start another full computer backup with incremental backups.

Or do you delete the old full and incremental backups from your computer........
