What's your favourite state to visit?
Your favourite state to visit?
For those who have traveled America, so far what is your favourite state to visit?
For myself, it's definitely Vermont. Burlington is a wonderful city, there are no billboards along the highways, the people are friendly and active, there are no McDonald's in any of the major cities, history is well-preserved, it's simply an amazing place.
3 AnswersOther - United States10 years agoHave you ever seen your parents cuddle?
Many people I know find it odd when I tell them that to this day I've never ever seen my parents cuddle. It's not for a lack of love between them, they simply were never affectionate around us as children. Is this normal or is my family weird?
17 AnswersParenting10 years agoIf you were allowed to gay marry, how would you ideally deal with the surname dilemma?
Also you may answer if you already have been gay married but for those who haven't, what is your ideal way to deal with the dilemma of surnames in a gay marriage?
Myself, I plan to take my partner's surname if and when gay marriage is legalized in my state or we marry in another state. I prefer to have one family name, especially for my children as that was how I was raised.

12 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender10 years agoThe Victorian window screen?
Did Victorian houses have window screens? I see a lot of homes that have interior wood shutters and I often see these shutters closed while the window is opened (from the bottom and from the top sometimes for some reason). Did these shutters serve as window screens?
2 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling10 years agoWould it be safe to say picture quality has always been constant?
I look at old photos from the late 19th century and early 20th century such as on Shorpy and when they are blown up, I can't honestly tell the difference in quality between these photos and what my Nikon D5000 can take. Now I'm just an amateur photographer, but to me it seems like photo quality has stayed pretty much constant since photography was invented. Is this true? If not, what accounts for the good quality of old photographs?

1 AnswerPacking & Preparation10 years agoWere horses actually boarded in urban Victorian carriage houses?
Late 19the century Victorian carriage houses certainly seem big enough to accommodate horses and a family typically hired a live-in stable boy or chauffeur. But I thought horses needed an open environment and couldn't be boarded in urban city lots? Were the horses boarded in ranches and just brought in when needed? Or were they permanently boarded in the city?

6 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender10 years agoDo you support the use of the word "queer" as an umbrella-term for LGBT people?
Do you support the use of the word "queer" as an umbrella-term for non-heteronormative and/or non-gender-binary people ie. LGBTQ people? Some say its original meaning of "deviating from the norm, odd, strange" coupled with its use as a derogatory term against LGBTQ people give it a negative connotation, while others say that that is its strength and WHY it should be used as a new umbrella-term to replace the alphabet soup mess that is LGBTQXYZ. Your thoughts?
