I'm a 55 yr old retired lawyer living in New Jersey and happily married to a beautiful & wonderful woman for the past several years. We adore our 9 yr old son who loves karate, football, soccer and now is in the Cub Scouts. I had to retire for health reasons but still manage to put in 2 days a week on my treadmill (about 2 miles/day). As a lawyer I met hundreds of people in every kind of situation. I've had quite an emotionally rich life and am full of life's experiences to share.

  • Does not the right to live include the right to die?

We are guaranteed many personal freedoms via the constitution. However, it seems that only the government can decide how and when we can dispose of our lives. For instance, it's OK to join the military and risk your life for your country but if your life is painful and a burden to yourself and to others, it's not OK for you to decide to end it. That doesn't seem fair to me. What do you think?

  • Women: Why is my wife so angry at me? Why can't she be greatful for what we have?

I was as a lawyer for 20yrs, earned a fair income, bought a house in an affluent community and a condo office which I rented out to other lawyers. But when I became depressed about the unjust legal system I told my first wife I needed to quit. She divorced me, forced me to disolve my assets, and moved my 6 yr old daughter 1500 miles away. The divorce lasted for 6 yrs near the end of which time I met a good woman whom I married when the divorce ended. I agreed to many demands by my ex to end the divorce ASAP, including paying 37% for child support out of my $2K/mo gifted income. I can't work, but bought a house, pay the mortgage/taxes/2 car insurances and my wife pays $700/mo towards utilities and $300/mo for food out her well tenured teacher's salary. Although depressed/anxiety ridden, at 5AM I make coffe, pack my wife&son lunches. I care for the dog/laundry&pay cleaning lady. My wife made me become a scout leader to help get me out of the house more often. She is not satisfied!
